Hi guys! I am new here. Been reading for about 8 months. Last fall I bought a JD GX345 and I am now wishing I had gotten a 2305 instead. I got a quote last week and I am just sharing the numbers. I think I might be $1k or so high but it is in the ballpark of what others have posted.

2305 - $9600.00
200CX - $2424.06
62C MMM - $1700.00
2% tax - $ 274.48
Total - $13998.54

These prices include freight.
My GX345 has 50 hours on it and I was hoping to get at least $5000 for it on trade. I paid $6500 for it last fall. The new model changes might hurt me there, but the new ones don't seem to be built as sturdy either.

I am also interested in getting a grapple. I really like the W.R. Long 48" or 54" RGB2. I was wondering if anyone has priced these grapples. I know they have been discussed here before, but I cannot find anything by searching the site. I think the upgrades have things a little screwed up right now. Anyone with some knowledge of these particular grapples, please chime in. They seem to be the best design that I have seen for my intended use of moving and piling brush to burn.
Anyone know how much the 200CX bucket weighs? The grapple weighs in at a little over 300 lbs so I know that will probably only leave me about 300 lbs of loader capacity.

Thanks,
Jim

I doubt that you are $1K high - that's ballpark. Don't know if you're getting a ballast box with the loader (fairly common but ~$200) or independent lift for the MMM (~$350).

You might be able to do a bit better but if you're looking to trade it will probably be a wash.

Good luck!

Scott

I was thinking about a ballast box but the dealer is trying to talk me into getting a box blade instead. I don't think I need a box blade, at least not on a tractor this small. I plan on buying a larger tractor in the future (50 pto hp or so) and I will probably get a box blade for it.
I was not planning to get the independent lift on the 2305.

QUESTION..........
What does "limited" mean on the 2305 Cat 1 hitch. I think all of the 2305's competitors have full Cat. 1 3-point hitch. (Kubota BX2200, 2230, and 2350, the Massey GC2300, etc). What exactly will be limited? Lift capacity?

Not weight capacity (the Deere leads the pack as far as I know), but the limitation is in lift height. Posters here have used post hole diggers with them, but you're not going to put a 5' long auger on them. Other than that, the limitations are what you place on them!

Just had my 2305 Delivered on Saturday, what a machine! With this unit I got the 200CX and the 62" MMM with independent lift for $13,500. I added the ballast box for approx $245 on the side as I forgot to add that item in when spec'ing out the tractor between dealers. The dealer I bought at (Chagrin Pet & Power Equipment) started at $14,775, but came down once I told them about a lower price about 3 hours away. I moved about 20 yards of topsoil (really it was mud after last Thursday's monsoons) and the cut the grass afterwards. I couldn't believe how easy it was to remove and install the deck and loader. Stop worrying so much about price, and pull the trigger. Every day you wait is another day without your new tractor!

I paid 14,300 for the exact same equipment, but Indiana sales tax is 6%, I think we got decent deals! If you need a tiller , I suggest the Land Pride
RTR50 reverse tine , another awesome piece of equipment!

GeaugaDeere,
How well does your 62" MMM cut. I am very picky. Right now I have a very uneven yard and I am usings a 54" deck that I am pleased with. I am worried that the 62" might not cut as well. I suppose I should'nt worry about that too much since I will redoing the yard eventually. I just don't know how far in the future it will be. In a perfect world I would keep my GX345 but I can't justify having it and a 2305.

Hey Jimed1 , I had a JD 325 before the 2305 , and the mow quality is as good but much faster , there must be something wrong with your 62c?

Other than setting the deck a bit too low (first time operator error), I am very pleased with my first cut. I have a relatively flat yard, except where my buddy dug up an enormous stump for me last fall, and that 62C deck cut every bit as well as my 42C on my old GT225. If you're really concerned with the 62C, drop down to the 54C. My neighbor has a New Holland TC18 (nearly identical in size to the 2305) and he has an approx 54" deck on his, and he wishes he would have gone bigger. The diesel power, the power steering, and the hum of the pto turning those three sharp blades...now that's music to my ears!

jimed -

JDFanatic is 100% right on the "limited" portion of the Cat 1.

The problem with the 54C deck is that it's almost the same width as the tractor - you're now right next to obstacles (trees, shrubs, landscaping). I went with the 62C.

Good luck!
