OK Wax & 4S, you Kubota customizers! Will be taking delivery of a new
B3030 HSDCC within the next week. Looking around for a place with reasonably priced LED lollipops to replace the stock rear units. So far everything seems to be in the $40 - $45 each range. Know of any bargain spots?
Also, opted not to go with Kubota's factory AM/FM/CD for nearly $700 list. I probably wouldn't play CD's in a tractor anyway. How about suggestion for a clean looking alternative installation with just AM/FM and mucho cheaper than Kubota stock?
You two certainly inspire some folks to bump up the creature comforts!
Congratulations a New
B3030 with cab Wow, I remember when I got mine , Great times..........
The cleanest installation would be the factory radio mount from Kubota I believe it's 108.00 .
You have to start there then you can get any radio you want.
The Kubota mount in my opinion is very high quality almost impossible to make and paint for that amount of money.
It mounts up there out of the way with two bolts and a screw all in the right spot.
When I installed my dvd player I used the same mount, just made it bigger. I would have hated to start from scratch.
Same with the speaker boxes it's not that easy to duplicate. I took mine out but I'm not ready to let them go just yet.
I wonder how much it would have added to the cost of the tractor to get the empty speaker boxes and the empty radio mount?
If I were you I would just enjoy the new tractor for now and see what your needs are going to be.
You may decide you want a backup camera, you may decide you want the radio to control your Ipod also. You get a cheap radio and have a ipod with 1,000 songs on it what are you going to do then? use your headphones?
I have an iphone so my old Ipod stays in my tractor, I just take it out to update songs or movies otherwise it's permanently mounted in the Kubota my Kenwood receiver's touch screen controls everything.
One thing I don't like to buy cheap stuff, everything I buy is nice quality.
JVC makes a nice radio DVD, backup monitor, ipod controller that will fit in the Kubota factory mount and would be my second choice if doing it again and the total cost would be far less the the factory Kubota stereo set up including the backup camera.
I know you say DVD?? what for? But it's not the DVD as much as it doubles as a monitor for a backup camera, the DVD is just an added bonus I can listen to a good movie just as I can listen to a song or Rush on the radio.
But if I were you I would at least call the dealer and get the factory radio mount, he would probably throw it in or give you a better deal then $108.00 right now before getting the tractor.
Then once you have the mount you can get whatever you want at a later date. 4shorts radio mounts in the headliner on the
b3030 you need something hanging down. Your going to have a hard time covering up that radio and holding it up there.
The Kubota mount is the best, cleanest install your going to get.
Hope this helps.
