I went back to my dealer Friday to ask my salesman if I could switch to turfs (I had originally asked for R4's). I was pleasantly surprised to find that they had put together the second B3030 cab that they had received, and this one had turf tires. I was expecting that the turfs would be less tall and wider than the R4's (I don't know why), but it turns out that the turfs are both wider and taller than the R4's. It looks like this tractor, with R4's, would be able to fit under a 7 foot door (just barely), but with turfs and I would expect also Ags, it will need an 8 ft. door.

I was thinking I would get the industrials as a compromise between traction and wear damage on the grass. But the more I thought about it, my long term main use past the first eight or ten months is going to be cutting grass, so I decided to go back to the turfs.

I finally got a digital camera, so Monday I'm going over to the dealer again and takes lots of close-up photos of both machines!

Actually my friend you will NOT be able to squeeze in a 7' door opening with R4 tires. Mine comes to the very top of the front work lights. 8' door is the only answer unless you have a big compressor and can let the air out of the rear tires. That would get old in a hurry. I wish the door opening was a little wider. Also the fact that there is no interior light annoys me greatly. The FEL valve makes access from the right door impossible for getting in or out. Seems to me that the valve could be located some place else other than the fender. It is a great little tractor though.

I may not have been measuring at the highest point. In any case, this is not a factor for me, since I decided I want turfs and the tractor is even taller with those tires. I'm going to build a house and had planned to build a barn for the tractor and a workshop, so it's not a big deal to use 8 ft. tall doors in the barn.

Thanks for the input.
