Looking at TSC boxblades for my 4115 they have a 48" and 60". My question is how important is it for the type of work you would use the boxblade for to cover your tracks?I am mostly just leveling small areas in an established lawn.If the only advantage of a wider blade is production I'll buy the 48" in favor of more seat time. The rear of my 4115 is about 52" wide. Thanks for any and all comments.

I would go further than just cover your tracks. If your box blade is a few inches wider that your tracks, you can get close to a building, a tree or whatever and still use it. If it is not as wide as your tracks you are limited in what you can do and will always have tracks that you can't cover.

Go with the 60" wide box. It will allow you to grade closer to buildings and obstacles . And if you use it to push snow or dirt backwards your rear wheels will be in the graded area .
If you have R-1/Ag tires now and change to R-4/industrial tires in the future the 60"scraper box will be very close in width to the wider R-4 tires .

My rear tires are 53" wide, maybe a little less at the contact patch.

I am glad I got a 60" box blade and would not want anything less. Add my vote to the "get wider" side. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

If you are going for a 'drug smooth finish' a box small er than your tracks will never produce it.. your overlap will always leave tire marks on each side. Most tractors can tote and pull a box big enough to cover their tracks, and that's what i would get.. unless you stumbled on a super deal used.. like 50-100$.. etc.
