I was removing snow this last Saturday and my BX started to lose power. I already pretty much knew what the problem was. A plugged fuel filter. This is the third or fourth time this has happened to me, always in the winter. I don't think its a gelling issue, the minute the filter is removed fuel flows, but the filter is almost 100% plugged. I think this spring I will be adding a real fuel filter to it, I'll have to find the post where someone installed a Racor. Its a little tough because there isn't a lot of extra room for a full sized filter on a BX.
When I remove the stock filter, it never looks that bad, just a little brown in color and I've cut them open, nothing looks wrong, but they plug up easy. I wonder what the micron rating is on a stock Kubota BX filter is?
