Another crazy Iphone ap

I was going to get the Iphone for the inclonometer, but held off. Now this crazy ap is available and I don't know what to think

Technology is nice - but I still prefer poster I have on the wall of the shop with thread and info listed all together. When working with metal and cutting fluids I prefer not to mess with touch displays and washing hands everytime I need to know something is tiresome.

You can see it on my machinist handbook - fingerprints all over it

I have the clinometer (that is the correct spelling) and it works very well.

I used it just last week to measure the angle of a non-vertical retaining wall.

What is the difference between a clinometer and an inclinometer? I googled around and couldn't find an explanation, it seems that folks use the two terms interchangeably. Is this a distinction without a difference?

You just taught me something.

Many years ago when I learned engineering, clinometer was the correct term. I looks like inclinometer has become accepted through common use.

If you are looking for the application for an iPhone, "Clinometer" is the one that I have and use.

I have a fairly high-end, hand-held compass, which has a clinometer built in. The literature that came with it called it a "clinometer".
