Another Dam Yankee from Maine

Howdy. (my last name is Doody)

I'm a new tractor shopper from southern Maine. I hope to purchase something in the 40hp range in the next 30 days or so if I can just make up my darn mind what to buy.

I plan to put the tractor to work on the old family farm of 60 acres, the immediate implements I need are a loader and a box scraper for the 600ft of driveway. A PTO tiller is on the list for next year. For snow removal I plan to fabricate a mount for my 7.6' Boss plow so I can retire my 93' Plow truck.

I work in IT (Linux/UNIX systems), my hobby projects include fixing up a 66' 2.5 ton Army truck and soon my wife's 67 MGB. I'm a novice welder and grinder, have a Miller 211 Mig welder and a 80 gallon Craftsman air compressor. I do like to get out to the gun range now and then to shoot U.S. surplus rifles.

Thats the skinny on me, I hope to learn a lot about tractors and implements from this site!

Can't be all bad if you're a Nux/Nix guy...even if you are a Yankee...!... the deuce and half and the MG sound like fun projects...

Yeah, that was pretty funny. I pulled into the local Diesel stop to top off my tank from the tractor recovery and some guy walks over and asks "Did you just buy a Yanmar?" What a hoot! It was great to meet and chat with Madmax for a little while!
