Somehow I have messed up the picture upload. I will try again.

This is the sub-soiler's hook - from Agri Supply.

Nice looking root you pulled up. I was using a box blade a few months back on my bx1500 and hit a root similar to that size. I little tweaking and some good old diesil grunt and it popped right out of the ground. What a satisfying sight. Good work.

Here's the one I built. As you can see, I haven't got it into the dirt yet. I'm waiting for the snow to melt up at the cabin.

A-OK SBD!

A man after my own heart. I believe in making things "Elephant Proof" And yours looks really solid!:p

That looks like a good solid design. What is it going to be hooked up to?

Be carefull of jabbing the clutch when the front wheels come off the ground. I did that while using a post hole digger and then released the clutch to ease the downward fall. Twisted the rock shaft spline on one side. A new part was $300.

gclark,

It is hooked to a BX2230 Kubota. Thanks for the compliment.

I have some hard pan and some decayed granite that I need to dig through to widen a turn-around in the road at my remote property. I hope this buster will dig it up enough for my FEL and blade to scrape it off.

Here's another view right after I painted it.

P.S. Sorry to hijack the thread

I was back out with the sub-soiler again today. Here in Alabama it's in the low 70s and really beautiful!:p

I couldn't sit inside so I planted about 300 feet of garden row for the spring vegies and then went back to busting up the new plot.

I am going to put sweet corn in the area when I am done. I pulled up 2 more roots that make the one in the previous picture look small. My wife thought it was part of a tree!:D

Last summer we cut down a 2 foot dia tree right where I am getting all the big roots. So far there is no sign of bending or damage to the sub-soiler.
