maybe the replacement seals are better quality.

I had my selling dealer send me a pdf of the original repair invoice when they did the seal on my L5240 in 2014 before I bought it. I compared it to the seal that I installed this year and they were not the same part number. I hope the newly designed seal lasts much longer. If it goes out again anytime soon, I will repair again and send it down the road.

Amhicks: I was not aware of any problem of this sort on the L3400. It's a different design (an older design). Did you mean another model #?

I hope you are right about the warranty. I bought the tractor used with 94 hours back in April. I expressed my concern to my dealer about buying a used tractor with no warranty. I was leaning towards buying a new L4060 but the L4240 used with 94 hrs, no emissions, better price, and he gave me a full two year warranty in writing from the date of purchase was just to hard to pass. I absolutely love the tractor, so I hope we get this fixed right the first time.

I wonder if Kubota customer service would verify the warranty if I gave them the serial number?

I spoke to the shop foreman who did mine and he confirmed the replacement seal was a better design.

I see you have a cab tractor and thats a lot more work. If I had the cab I don't think I would have done it.
