Glad to hear it's fixed. Always nice to find a solution.....especially a cheap one. And heck...you even got an excuse to buy a new tool out of it! Win win!

Glad to hear it's working and hopefully it will last. If not I would remove it and see if there's something causing the float to not operate smoothly or even replace it. At least you know it's the fuel level sensor and not something else and you got to learn how to use a multimeter.

Thanks guys! It's just weird that I must have removed and reinstalled the sending unit at least a dozen times and the fix only came after I emptied the tank. Some crazy Gremlin hopefully left my tractor!!! Have a great day and be safe!!!!!! Stanley

Well Ok.. you are saying you believe it was just stuck.. sometimes the simplest explanation is the correct one..I am glad your ordeal is over.. however what does not kill us makes us stronger.:) And your diagnostic skills are definitely stronger!:) Also you now own an multimeter. You should continue to practice with the meter, and try to understand as many of its functions as you can. It will serve you well when something else goes wrong..buy a few resistors and measure them, measure some batteries laying around, and if you get brave, calculate the expected current that those resistors would pull when placed across those batteries and measure it to see if it is near your calculated value. E=IR Ohms law.. E electromotive force, commonly called Volts I current, measured in amperes (amps) R resistance in ohms. What is the point of learning all of this stuff you ask? Well if you practice this just a bit and understand the relationships, you will always be able to understand and troubleshoot any DC electronic problem and find a solution. When your car wont start, you will understand why. Good luck

James, you are right about using the multimeter. It is a neat little tool that is very interesting and I've been reading alot about how to use it on-line (HF owner's manual not worth the paper it's written on) and also watched some good videos on Youtube. I really appreciate your help, thanks again!! Stanley

Yep that is definitely a Gremlin. Reminds me of the old Pacer, two very ugly cars!
