Tractor
Kubota L2800 with HST/R4 Tires
I wanted to jump in here and say hi...and to warn everyone that I may have a lot of questions about techniques, tips, etc. on using my new tractor. The company I worked for the past 21 years has sold to a foreign entity and that left me without a steady income from a "real job". I have several small endeavors of my own that will almost pay the bills but I felt I needed something else to replace the "real job". I bought the tractor in hopes of making a little extra money on the side and it sounded like a good excuse for me to buy one to play with here on my little farm even if I didnt work it. Luckily my neighbor is a landscaper and he says he should be able to give me enough work to make the payments.
The tractor I bought was the Kubota L2800. The attachments I have so far are a 5' mower, 5' box scraper, 5' tiller, the backhoe and of course the loader.
I found this site by doing a search for techniques on using the box scraper because I have had trouble in the past on borrowed tractors. After reading some of the posts here I think I know what I have been doing wrong. This site looks to be the only place a person needs for all the tractor info they could ever want. I thought I would sign up and hopefully not annoy anyone with to many questions.
I know you guys know what an L2800 looks like but I just had to post a pic of mine...like a kid with a new toy. Kubota.JPG

Welcome to TBN Garren!! :D

You've already broken the code about what gets us excited. Tractors and things that you can do with them. Thanks for the pics. We enjoy all colors and don't get too parochial on most subjects. We also enjoy living and learning through each others successes and failures. (Probably learn more from the failures). Finally, you've also probably noticed there's many of us who love to give you plenty of ways of spending YOUR money. Wisely of course.

Welcome, and nice looking tractor. Did you have to use it to clean up any storm damage last week? Wind got up pretty good over your way according to the news.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome.

BTDT- I was really dreading that storm...with 3 acres of trees I usually end up with a lot of clean up after those type of storms. I guess luck was on my side this time. The only thing that fell was about a dozen small branches I broke up by hand.

Thanks again everyone! :)

Sounds like you also need a rake, I just bought a Midwest 6' rake with gage wheels and I am sure this implement would help you with your property as well. Best wishes and by-the-way, this is the only tractor site that you need to Bookmark.

Nice tractor Garren and welcome to TBN! Now go put it to work!

This global economy and manufacturing seems to destroy good American jobs away daily!

Thanks again everyone for the warm welcome.
Earlier in this thread I was braggin' about my luck with the last round of storms we had here in Texas...but actually my luck had ran out two days ago as you can see in the following pic.
A woman was entering an on-ramp to the interstate in front of me. I looked back to see if it was clear thinking she had gone ahead. When I turned around I found her sitting at the bottom of the ramp trying to decide whether to go or not...well...my Ford made the decision for her.
Now I don't have anyway to haul my new toy around for the next two weeks.

Been there to. Makes you want to starting yelling at the person "I WOULD HAVE GONE!"

Ouch, I love those people that stop at the edge of the highway and then cant figure out how to get instantly to 55+ to merge. Theres a reason why its a yield sign and not a stop sign.
Ive actually learned to watch the people in front of me first now.

Been there done that   :(; and to think the insurance companies blame the "pushers". Jay
