New Deutz Tractor

/ New Deutz Tractor #21
Purchased this on Tuesday and bought a grapple too. Dealer was about 3.5 hours away. I love this thing. But I’m also comparing it to a 32 y/o Kioti LK3054 😂. Like comparing a F450 to a pinto.
It was supposed to have delivered today, but the dealer messaged and said it won’t be until next week and couldn’t give me a solid day or time when because he had to talk to the driver. I paid $800 for delivery. I took the day off of work to be here when it was supposed to be. But next week I’m going to be slammed at work and I won’t be able to accept delivery until after I’m home from work. I’m a little disappointed. I only paid the delivery because it was supposed to be delivered today. Wasn’t informed until around noon. Had I known it wasn’t, I would’ve just went and got it today with the gooseneck and saved a few dollars.
Is this a normal thing, being delayed? Possible stall tactic because something was found during the PDI check? This is my first new tractor purchase, so everything is new to me.
Thanks!
I had the same issue, most of the dealers for these are smaller locally owned outfits with corp being in Georgia I think. I just got on the phone made a couple strategic comments to them and I had it 3 days after purchase. Only way I was picking up mine would have been to road it, no trailers big enough to handle it. Just keep at them since these dealers tend to be more responsive.
A side note though, have them go over the FEL removal with you. It's really a nice design and fast BUT the metals on the 2 release levers tend to get sticky and when that happens it gets frustrating to get the thing off. What I do now is release them when not in use so they don't stick, no issues since then. Next is talk to the dealer shop, you'll have 2 years where they will replace the def mechanism on this, ask who in the area has the factory delete for it and plan on getting it done eventually. It won't harm the tractor or warranty. Assuming it has def that is, not overly familiar with that size. Otherwise, learn how to clean it and drain the system when it's not in use much. Enjoy, they really are great tractors.

The original posters 4065 doesn’t have a def system.

I have had a 35 hp. Deutz tractor for years and they are the best built tractor I've seen. Mine is an older air cooled diesel engine and it is very fuel efficient. I also have a newer 35 hp. John Deer 990 with a Yanmar diesel. It is a good tractor but not nearly as heavy and burns more fuel.

The old 06 and 07 series Deutz have nothing in common to the new Deutz, other than the name.

I still have an old series Deutz too.

Hearty congratulations on your purchase!! And wish you countless great hours of seat time.
I’ll echo comments of prior replies- touch base with your sales rep and simply explain what you laid out clearly in your OP. Nicely request refund of the $800 and set a day/time that you will be there to load it and haul it home on your own.

Sorry to destroy your soap bubble...
That thing have green (DF) paint only.
Originally this is an italian SAME tractor, with Same engine, made in India. Doesn't have any Deutz roots.
Real Deutz (German produced) tractors start with Agrotron.
Good thing is that this was pure mechanical tractor.
Here in Europe they have now bunch of electronic ****, including common rail, and FarMotion engine with lowered displacement (bore lowered to 103mm instead of 105mm on 1000 series engines).
Good thing is that it hasn't SCR or DPF.

(I have it's orange painted 24y old brother without any electronics and with air cooled engine, made in Italy).

Nice new ride, Did you get it in Abingdon by chance? If so the dealer is terrible.

Mine was a kioti dealer (Maxwell in Ontario) and it also took a lot longer than they initially told me. If I remember correctly it took them extra couple of weeks and many angry phonecall to finally deliver the tractor.

Mind you, I've never had anything but issues with that dealer since I started buying things from them. Unfortunately no other kioti dealer near by.

Sweet tractor I can understand your frustration dang dealers I’d wait for delivery unless you really need it right now but that’s definitely your decision good luck!

It was in May of the year of Covid 19 that I bought my Kubota from a local dealer. When we made the deal the FEL was somewhere "in shipment." I got the tractor and mower in early June, within the promised time frame, but the loader was still MIA. As September approached--the point at which I NEEDED the loader, the dealer was going to deliver a skid-steer loader for me to use until my loader arrived. On the Friday before the week they were going to deliver the loader, the dealer called just about closing time. They were unloading a truckload from Kubota and what did they find??? My loader. No invoice, no paperwork, no nothin'...but it was the only one they had on order, so it came my way first thing the next week. They picked up my tractor, did the 50 hour break-in service, attached the loader and brought it back in just a couple days--and I got to do all my loader work with my own machine.

Another lesson in why you shop the dealer! They were honest, kept me informed, and were willing to make things right when they couldn't deliver on a promise.

ZJ is right and those SAME/SLH made tractors are good tractors, I have several of them.

I believe I’m going to ask for a refund on the tractor. Absolutely no communication from them this whole process. A simple phone call explaining the issues or hold ups is all it would have taken. I’m a patient person and understand things happen. But after today. I have no trust in them. Wouldn’t answer the phone and would send it to voicemail. After using a phone with a different number, I was able to get in contact with the dealer. I was told that they had to order a steering part and were waiting for that to be delivered, then I will be getting the tractor.
At this point with the lack of transparency and communication, coupled with a new tractor already needing a steering part I think I will request a refund and go somewhere else and possibly a different brand.
Also when I test drove the tractor, it had a little over 10 hours. How many hours should I expect to be on it if I decide to wait? Should it also come with a full tank of diesel? Thanks all!

My Massey Ferguson had 0.4 hours on the meter when I looked at it, I drove it briefly around the lot, less than 3 minutes ... When I picked it up 3 days later it had 0.6 hours on it, a full tank of fuel, and freshly greased ...

I wouldn't be so hasty to cancel the purchase, but I would ask for maybe they supply you with the fluids and filters for the 1st service, and a hat! 🤠

If you like it, let them make it right, at least they found the faulty part NOW, instead of you finding it next month ... But it does raise the question why didn't they notice it before you even looked at it, if had 10 hours on it? Were they just busy, and figured they check it out prior to delivery ...

I love the tractor. But this experience of a non existent salesman, no communication and jumping through hoops to get an answer is tiring to say the least and has really soured any future transactions with this dealer. So should i worry if there’s more than 1 or 2 hours put on it?

I wouldn't worry about a couple of hours on the meter, but I'd ask them how they got there ... How much time did you put on it checking it out? How many hours do you plan to put on it?

How long have they had it on there lot?

My Massey Ferguson dealer is pretty slow on returning calls, but if I'm standing in front of him, or have him on the phone he is very responsive! Unfortunately some people aren't good at communicating, even in today's high tech world where it "should" be easy!
