Hello I've been posting on TBN for a while now and I just noticed another orange tractor brand! I'm trying to sell my Kubota BX22 because I'm purchasing more property in the near future. Now that I have read about the Kioti's I'm going to try to find a dealer around my part of VA. I'll be looking for around 30 hp with a HD FEL, largest RFM I can safely handle and a 72" HD Boxblade. Would the 3054 handle all of that or would I have to go up to a DK35 or DK40? I have 11 acres now and will have around 50 when I'm done buying up my neighbors :) Thanks

I know what you mean about orange tractors!! Agco has one out and Simplicity too! I was thinking I saw another orange one at a farm show a while back. Orange is a very popular color for tractors!! Case had it years ago and so did/does Allis Chalmers. Goto http://www.kiotitractor.com/Dealers[1].html put in your zip and go. While you are at the Kioti tractor website check out the specs. The 3054 will handle a 72" finish mower as will the DK35. The DK35 is alot nicer but a bit more expensive. Loader lift: 3054=940 to full height, DK35=1350 to full height. The 3054 will handle the 72" box depending on how aggressive you want to get with it, a 60" will work much better. The DK35 will handle the 72" fine. We love 'em. They have been very dependable for our customers.

Wow. I have 3 within 50 miles of my house which is saying a lot since where I live is pretty rural. Next step is to convince the wife to make a trip with me. Thanks for the help. Oh It looks like the DK35 fit the min. I'm looking for then!

Manganos,
Where in VA do you live? I am in Charlottesville. I just purchased a DK35 in Mineral VA (TractorHill). Very nice dealer and he seemed to have pretty good prices on the Kioti tractors. Very knowledgable and has I believe all the DK series in stock.

Hey ! I'm in Dinwiddie which is 40 miles south of Richmond. I believe I met someone from TractorHill at the state fair. Do they sell Kubota as well? I'll have to check them out. If it was the same company they seemed very very nice. If you don't mind could you let me know what you got and how much you paid? You can email me at vamangano@yahoo.com if you don't want to post. If not that is ok too :) Thanks for the help..

Maganos, I recently purchased a LK3054 with the 128 FEL and a 60 in fleld mower. I would encourage you to look at the DK35 for use with the size equipment you plan to use. The additional power will come in handy! Good Luck-By the way, Kioti is a great tractor.

Hey thanks for the reply. I see you have the 60" mower for your 3054. Do you think it could handle a bigger mower? My BX22 handles a 60" mid mount mower with ease. I would think a 30hp machine could handle at leaset a 72" . I don't really have a need anymore for a bushhog being that I have all these goats :)

The 3054 will easily handle a 60" brush hog or a 72" finish mower.

Manganos, I went along with the dealer's and the spec sheet's suggestion as to size. Frankly I haven't worked with the machine long enough to give you an educated answer. This is my first compact tractor with my only other experience being a John Deere a bunch of years ago. It had power to spare and it seemed that we could hang anything on the back of it and it would go like crazy. Not so with the compact and I've made it my personal mission to encourage folks to buy a bigger tractor than they might feel that they need. I have 46 acres with about 12-13 in a hay meadow. Thank goodness I have a pro who fertilizes, bales and pays me a small sum for each bale. Otherwise I would be spending all of my time on my tractor with my 60 in mower, trying to keep this meadow mowed down. Good luck on your search. Regards

We always put 72" mowers and 60" rotaries on our 3054's. They will handle it just fine. It does depend on the brand of the attachment though. With the amount of land you are going to work, I would probably go with the DK35 instead of the 3054.
