I am going to vote with the guys who suggest buying the generator BIGGER than the tractor HP available. Buy it bigger than you can drive TODAY. Upgrade tractor someday and generator is still big enough. Bigger generator has larger armature (rolling part) with more mass and inertia, starts motors better than smaller generator. Larger generator has larger wire and so runs cooler longer under load. But, maybe as suggested, you want to know you will not pull down your tractor RPM, so you need to add up the load it will see and limit the stuff "on-line" at once. Also, the difference between a 10Kw and a 12.5 Kw unit or between a 12 Kw and a 15Kw uint is only a hundred bucks or so for each jump. I am adding a link o a place that sells top quality stuff. Their website used to be a lot more descriptive, now I guess you have to call to get more techincal info. The point is, these are regulated-voltage units, with active circuitry (not just a capacitor) to hold the voltage within 1% from no load to full load. Worth a look. https://ssl.perfora.net/www.powerco...nid=154512e17c7c4f2/shopdata/index.shopscript

You guys with the tractor/implement boneyards have all the fun!

I agree with buying the larger generator head.
