Another Question about towing

Don't know the year of your F250 but if the rear is sagging that much maybe you need to replace the springs. The 250 should barely drop at all if the springs are good. I have a 22' 14K trailer I tow with a half ton and the rear of my truck only drops an inch or two with the tractor loaded.

A little late to the party, but I agree with George. Up until a year or so ago towed almost daily with my '99 F350. At one point the rear springs began to sag with just the weight of the unloaded GN. There are a bunch of Super Duty's around here and most of them don't get used for more than daily drivers, so I got a set off of a wrecked truck and no more sag.

It might just be too much weight without a WD hitch.

Assuming its the 5055e in the avatar, those are 5500# bare tractor.

In another thread, he mentions no loader, but a LP 6' RFM, and is estimating 7800# for the package.

Depending on just where the axles are on the trailer, and how the trailer ramps are designed, You might not be able to get to what is acceptable. A 20' trailer for that sized tractor dont leave much wiggle room.

I agree with others, without knowing weights here, all we can do is guess. With the trailer weight, you are looking at a 10k total load. So you should need 1000-1500# on the hitch. If you are getting more than that, adjust the load. If you are in that range, THEN and only THEN look into other means to level out.
