If he hit them at all it would be above average. I read that even well trained cops miss most of the time when shooting at a suspect, lots different from shooting at a paper target without possibility of it shooting back. I guess all the adrenalin makes you a little shaky AND rushing the shot too. Notice in the video, grandpa wasnt really aiming, just pointing and shooting. Hindsight is always perfect, but I think I would have taken out the first guy with a carefully aimed shot from where I was sitting since he wasnt more than 15 away then moved in for the other guy. He really opened himself up for getting killed when he walked past where the other bandit was with the shotgun. I guess panic is good sometimes.
Lots of LEO's and ex-LEO's on TBN, it would be interesting to see how many of them have actually had to pull their gun and shoot a suspect in real life and what the hit score is.

Point shooting is something anyone carrying should practice. Odds are, one won't have the time to aim unless you have cover of some sort. Anyway, sights on these small guns (frequently referred to as "mouse guns") are rudimentary, at best.

"granpa", eh? Sounds like age discrimination to me...

I'd be proud to have this guy for my Grandpa, but that last shot could have landed him in jail. And the last 3 shots would probably be fuel for an overzealous prosecutor.

I hope somebody bought this guy a drink after the shooting........he deserves it!

Not the first time I've seen the video, but thanks for sharing it again. Its fun to watch the bad guys run.

Law enforcement officers hit 13% of the time in actual engagements. Average engagement lasts less than four seconds and less than four rounds fired.

People rely on TV shows for too much for info. I worked with a guy who had actually shot somebody with a 45. He was a Vietnam vet. It has been years since i heard the story but he said he put three or four rounds in the guy out of a full magazine. The guy wasn't knocked down and he ran off. They found him later after he had probably bled out.

Another one for the law abiding citizens standing up against crime!

Many years ago, when we first heard of bad guys wearing bullet proof vests, we practiced point shooting, using a steel target. I've forgotten the distance, but we had to draw and fire 3 very rapid shots each time; 2 to the chest or body mass and one to the head. I think it was good practice, and of course, I'm glad I'm one of those who never had to shoot at a person.

I use a 5 foot to 10 or 12 foot range. I always tried for center of mass, but frequently hit the legs or groin.
