Had no internet connection for a couple of days
- Idle pressure is between 50 and 75 Bar with the 3pt set at all positions but completely down or at the presettable down position (i have 2 3pt controls with 1 being a presettable low position). I suppose this is normal.

:)

Need to clarify that the idle pressure at the 3pt down position drops to almost 0, estimate around 5 bar up to 15 depending on engine rpm.

And this is how it looks:

Nice job.

250 bar? sounds like a drinking goal. Is that per year or per month?

Or did you mean that the pressure was 3625 psi?

By the way - that seems high to me. Also 75 bar doing nothing is 1000 psi and that's also high by about 600 psi. Do you have the system relief valve spec?

So, you are going to beef up the grapple? That's good. Your design should last with some corner gussets.

John Bud,

To get into the barrel question. I now live in a wine region. When first coming here i was invited to a far neighbour his wine cellar. Home made wines no blends and no chemicals bla bla bla. Now one moment he mentions he makes about 2000 liter of wine, roughly 500 gallon per year.
So i asked who his customers were. Got an odd look and a grumbled answer: ...are you crazy its barely enough for the family to survive on 1 year.

:D

Now on the pressure, 250 must be the setting of the system relief valve. It is too nicely 250 exact.
The relief valve of the FEL states 200Bar and the relieve valve of the remotes 250Bar. I guess it is a mix of standards between japan / US / europe for agricultural hydraulic devices.

The 1000psi at idle is caused by the 3pt.If i take out the 3pt from the circuit it nicely drops to 5-10 bar (75 to 150 psi).
As mentioned this is with the 3pt in a position between down and up. In the extremes the pressure drops again to 75-150psi.

I talked about it with a friend who owns an old ZETOR AG tractor and he said this was also the case on his. Therefore he is never transporting in a middle position but only in the up or down position. 'Stupid to have your pump working all the time' was his comment.

Going from this i looked at the pre-set low position handle and found that this only engages the shut off valve of the 3pt earlier than in the complete down position. This shut off valve is (by levers engaged by the 3pt arms) closed in 2 positions, down and up.

So i suppose this is normal on this type of 3pt??

Dont get me wrong, i dont want to be the ***** that needs to have the last word on everyting, just want to share what i see and listen to you all who are into it for a long time.

Sounds like your in a fine location!

If the pressure drops to the 5-10 bar then that's a much better reading. It does sound like the 3pt is using the pressure keeping the position constant.

Could a prior owner have increased the pressure? Higher pressures will lead to potential breakage, but if it's been that way for years, why mess around with it.
