Another Repair for 1430

Yep. My 2001 model PT425 has the cable. I think they changed to the valve and hoses the next year.

As I recall, pappa bear was complaining that the treadle was too tough to push with his toes with the cable setup.

After they switched to the valve setup, momma bear started complaining that the treadle was too sensitive.

Then the baby bear had the free treadle springs installed and everything was just right. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I've had this problem 2 times with my 1430. On both occassions, I was going back and forth for a long period of time. The first time, the bolt in the turn buckle connecting it to the lever sheared. I was able to drill out the old bolt and replace it with an aircraft grade bolt. This worked find for about 4 years. This year, it happened again but for a different reason. The threads on the turnbuckle stripped. Terry sent me 2 new ones (one spare) and told me to make sure that the lock nuts were tight at the turnbuckle and hydroback. I did and it works fine now. Maybe the rapid back/forth movement overstresses this particular connection.
