Another Set of New CC2544 Questions....

Couple of questions for the knowledgeable here:

1) On the '06 2544, is there supposed to be a sticker or some other way of telling what deck height setting you are in? All I have on mine is the H, L, some crazy symbol in the middle and an up arrow and down arrow. I suppose I'll get used to setting the deck in relation to the little pictures, just caught me by surprise I guess.

2) How much travel do you typically get out of the deck height adjustment lever. Mine only travels maybe half of the available space. No biggie, just wondering.

3) Do the dealers usually level the deck prior to delivery? I checked mine out (with a lick and a promise) but would like to know if I should spend some extra time getting it just right.

Not sure about the '06 deck hight indicator. My '05 has a needle (arrow) indicator attached to the lift hand lever that points to a 1-6 for deck hight. The numbers dont mean much as they do not represent inches. They are just an indicator. I can't get the needle to go all the way up or all the way down, but there is about 3" of total up/down travel on my 2544. I mow at setting "3" & the gauge wheels are set to rarely touch ground. You should check the deck hight on a nice level floor. The deck should set slightly nose-down.

My '06 2554 has the same L,H, Weird Symbol markings along with the arrows. And the implement lift handle only moves through about 1/2 the range too.

I guess it makes sense that they removed the numbers if they really don't mean anything...

Even on my old 682, the deck height lever does not move through the entire 6-1 range. (But there are numbers, no Prince symbol-thingys /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif) By the time it's down in 4 the deck wheels are starting to hit the ground, and in 3 the deck is fully down on all the wheels as low as she goes. 1 and 2 are there for amuzement purposes only /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
