Yes, but why when you already have hydraulics available? Plus you have to buy a controller.

I am thinking about how to get the power angle working. My hydraulic remote is in the rear, so I would have to have some really really long hydraulic lines made up, which are usually not cheap... probably 2x 15' lines.

If I can just wire up this pump to the battery and rig some kind of basic controller it maybe another option for me...

Picked it up today. It's a Western plow, 7 feet, and all the mechanicals appear to be in order. The guy even threw in the pump which was used on the pickup truck it came from. I got everything for $125 (plus another $20 trailer rental) which seems like a pretty good deal to me. I don't think I will need the pump, I will use the tractor hydro.

I didn't realize how big this thing was until I saw it in person. It's huge. I hope it's not too big for the B7800, i can see now why cutting down the frame and keeping the weight closer to the pins would make it easier to manage. Now I just need to figure out a way to mount it.

I have a 7' Western on my 32 HP Deere 4300, and it handles it very well. I'd think your B7800 would as well. However, I mounted the plow on the tractor, not on the FEL. I think that being farther out front, it may move the tractor a lot more when attacking snow. Mine also has the short A-frame that brings it up closer.
Without the FEL, leaves the FEL hyd. couplings and joy stick free to control the three rams. Another plus.

Thanks for the info and pic... I know you may not be able to see my pictures because photobucket wants me to pay them now. Looking at your pictures, my plow looks beefier. I have 3 springs and what I believe is a shock absorber where-as you seem to only have 2 spring and no shock. Any idea what the weight of your plow?

Good idea about mounting directly to tractor and using FEL hydraulics. I did not think of that. My FEL is supposed to be "easily removable" occording to manual, maybe it's time to find out!

Buying hoses will be cheaper. If not up front it will in the long run when the pump moter fails.

Your battery and alternator are more expensive the 2 1/4" lines from your rear remotes-don't hook it up to the tractor that way!

The weight is 575#.

My FEL is very easy to drop off and re-attach (most time is taken just disconnecting or connecting the hyd. lines ). I made the plow hitch so it is easily tilts up on pins in the MMM front brackets, and then with two bolts, attaches to the weight bracket. I keep the plow and hitch together, and have casters in the plow skid brackets, and a 4 wheel caster dolly under the A-frame. At most, a 10 minute job to switch from FEL to plow, or back again.

I ran a battery operated Mayer plow on a 6.2 GM 4 x 4 and can tell you that the those 12 volt hydraulic pumps draw HUGE power.
The GMC had dual huge batteries (and new) and more than once I had to walk home when I plowed at night.
Think of it as using your starter every few minits and how short a time that battery will refuse to turn over your motor.
Plus most compacts do not have all that many amps at the alternator.

There are some previous pics and discussions about front plows, and a search on Western Plow may give you some of the insights of several on the front mount.

Here is a pic of the hitch (plow adapter) that I had fabricated to connect the front end of my Deere 4300 with the Western plow short A-frame that was available around year 2000 when I put it together. This pic is after fabrication and white primer paint. Does this help?

You need a bigger alternator.
