I'm a mad man Farm Boy, I just hammer down and git er done if you know what I mean. I do tack things first but still major warpage.

I gotta tell myself it's just a firewood cart and finish it.

Cracked my first beer today at 11:30, not even close to a record for me. Oh well after 6 beers the paint should look better. Most cars I have painted have to have the mosquitos buffed out the next day. This one is far from perfect. I don't know why but I stuck with Kubota gray (Rust-Oleum smoke gray 1qt mixed with 1/2 qt Rust-oleum gloss black cut with mineral spirits). The tub will be orange.

Regards, Fred

Nice mask and why it worped so bad is because even tho you tacked it sheet metal needs to be welded in different sections on each side. Or else you have your problem. It worped badly

Still straightening the tub; need a bigger hammer, maybe a rosebud with a tank trailer full of acetylene. Maybe this weekend.

Got it straightened then flipped it over onto the frame and tested the function. It works fine so I finished the welding (I realize I can't weld for crap over my head) and geez what a mess.

Picked out a color that was extremely close to the fuel door on the 3940 and had a gallon mixed at the hardware store. I'm too cheap to pay $150 a gallon for automotive paint and didn't want to use a hardener because when the paint gets really hard it peels off in sheets with abuse and power washing.

Painted on Sunday when it was 80 degrees outdoors. This is some of the worst paint I ever used it simply refuses to cover even over primer. I sprayed the whole gallon and ran out.

It's Wednesday morning and the paint has not dried, I can't get near the trailer to finish the wiring because the paint is so soft.

Oh well it's just a wood cart, a soft, gooey, flaming orange wood cart.

After 5 weeks the paint is still weird and soft, oh well the trailer functions very well behind tractor or wife's new ride; 2015 Mudstain convertible.

5.0 has no problem pulling the cart, if I could only talk her into taking the trash to the dump on Saturdays.

If you got a whole gallon onto that trailer it must be 1/8" thick. Might harden in 2018 or so, maybe. I have the same problem brushing sometimes, too thick makes it worse.
