Antifreeze in rear tire?

If a tire sealant like Slime is used it is recommended to always shoot a quick burst of air in before checking pressure. That clears the valve stem so you don't get the stuff plugging the stem or your gauge:thumbsup:

OK, so I did as was suggested and tried checking the tire pressure with the tire rolled so that its valve stem was high, rather than low.

Same result--a small amount of green liquid came out, and couldn't get a pressure reading. I then tried using a hand tire pump (not a compressor; just a pump for pumping up bicycle tires) to put air into the tire. No go. Couldn't force any air into the tire.

The green liquid is thin in consistency, and somewhat slippery/oily.

If you have to add air and can't get it in, even with more air pressure, like 50 or 60 lbs. Then unscrew the valve stem and put a new one in. If it were antifreeze, air would go in easily. Slime got its name from the fact that it is thick and slimy like snot. It is also green. Believe me thats what is in there. If the tire does not need air then just leave it like it is. There is no need to have exactly the amount of air the manual calls for. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Agreed, I think I'm going to leave well enough alone. The tire doesn't look under-inflated. I just found the whole thing surprising when I went to put air in and instead got green liquid out. And what's coming out isn't thick like snot; it's thin.

Might be RainX washer fluid IIRC it is a green color or as you say antifreeze but the valve stem core needs to be cleaned at some point. Agree it ain't broke yet.
