Anyone know what brand is compatible with factory coolant in a John Deere 3038e?
Just topping off and dont wanna spend $15 a gallon at dealer.

You could confirm what ASTM spec coolant is currently in your JD and shop around from there. I personally would not mix different types, or even manufacturer coolant when topping off.
I switched all of my Kubota machines over to a long life coolant years ago, but that involved a complete drain / flush / fill.

Sorry, but IMHO that's a bogus argument. Yeah, the factory would like you to believe that there's something special about "their" antifreeze, hydraulic fluid or whatever so as to get you to pay twice as much from a dealer as opposed to the same thing from an auto parts store.
No, you don't want to mix types, but find out what's in yours and look for the best price for an acceptable quality.

I thought everyone knew that the John Deere refinery makes their own very special hydraulic oil and antifreeze.

Its heavy duty non-nitrited coolant, like chevron delo elc antifreeze and coolant can be found a walmart for under $10 premixed, see chart
