Any 9mm Ammo in your area, and how much a box??

I hear of a little ammo in popular calibers now and then but no big shipments. What I do hear about is gone in a few hours. I reload for 9mm so I don't really go looking for it. Most places seem to be holding their prices about the same as pre-panic. I could buy a 250 round UMC pack of 115gr round nose 9mm for $65 at Wallyworld pre-panic.

Have actually been shooting more .22 lately since I got the wife a Ruger SR22 for her to practice with and the whistle pigs are up now so doing some .22 rifle shooting. I got lucky and collected a few thousand .22 earlier in the year so I am set for a little while. Hoping ammo will start to return to normal before I run out of .22... it is all to easy to burn through a bulk pack when taking the wife and kids to the range.

I have a hard time with this as there seems to be no rational reason why ammo is in such short supply. Rumors abound here in Florida of people who buy up large quantities of ammo only to bury it in their back yards. I must be working at the wrong job. Someone else said that Homeland Security purchased all the ammo. I have to believe that ammo manufactures are running 24x7 to meet demand (it's that free market thing). I've seen a little improvement at Gander Mountain at least the less popular ammo brands are on the shelf. I long for the good old days of purchasing as many 350 rounds of Blazer 9mm of $99 as I wanted. I paid $85 dollars for 100 rounds of nothing special 9mm a few weeks ago.

Pretty scarce here. Bought a couple boxes of 50 for $20 each at the local firearms dealer, seems about the going rate here at the moment for the basic stuff. 2 or 3 box limit. My son ordered some from Cabela's I think, he watches the websites like Gunbot. He's ordered twice from them and both times got back ordered. Funny thing is he got the 2nd order in before the 1st, 1st has yet to be cancelled. Must have been the size of the box. Hopefully it turns around soon. Maybe today's vote will ease things.

Hard to find in Michigan unless you know the truck route times at places like Wal Mart and Dicks Sporting Goods. Christ they got folks standing around the store for hours waiting just to see if ammo arrives.....
Not for me. I got enough to keep me cozy and ward of any deamons :D

Bout 2 months back it all started disappearing off shelf's around here. The local Mejier Grocery Store had a pretty good selection but every time I was there no one was around to open the case. I was going to buy some of their .380ACP $15/box, they were stocked with 9mm Lugar $11~$19/bx and 22's $15/550count brick neither of which I needed. well about 3 days later they were wiped out. some people been scalping ammo on CL or other on-line sales sites. Still lots of shot gun shells on-hand at local stores like others so still can feed yourself off the land just have to clean the game a bit better...

I'm set for 9mm Lugars maybe 1000 rounds all bought for 7~9/50 rnd box. I still have maybe 1/2 brick of 22's and a few 50 boxes laying here & there. I opened up a box that was left at farm when I bought it, probably 70's vintage rounds & some of them are pretty soft firing and a few were total duds. Just plinking them off so wasn't too concerned but probably 1/3 of the box barely or didnt even eject/rack the bolt on my well broken in 10/22 lol. I also have a couple boxes of hotter Yellow Jacket hollow points that have a bit of kick to em.

9mm ammo cannot be found in my area for some time. Tried every where for the past three weeks. Wal-mart, Dicks sporting goods, Gander mountain, Caballas and several gun stores. They all just laugh at me. I called one place today and they just got a shipment in. They had a 5 box limit so I asked them to hold me 5 boxes till I got off work. They said they would take them to the cashier and put my name on them. When I went in to get them, I went back to the ammo dept and asked it they still had any 9mm. He said yes, and handed me 5 boxes and my wife was with me and he said I supposed you want 5 boxes too, before she coul;d say no, I said sure she want some too, then when I went to the counter to check out, I paid for them and said by the way my son called in and gave his name and you are supposed to have 5 boxes with his name on it. She said sure, right here. $15 a box. Still no 22's any where. What are 9mm going for in your area? Seems like last time I bought some they were less than $10 a box. I heard some places they are going for $30 a box. I think I should have cashed my IRA a few years ago and bought a truck load of ammo. I 've seen 22's going for $80 a brick and people glad to get them. Today the price of gold just went down and ammo went up.

Wow. I bought some 9mm, hollow ponits late last year, I paid $70 for 250 rounds. I guess I got a good deal. I bought a couple 1000 rounds of .22 a few years ago, but I don't shoo much anymore.

If you don't want them, now would be a good time to put on some war paint and get out your tomahawk, and go "scalping" and make some money! :D

I had some 22's that I had forgot to take out of my gun belt, they were sort of coroded and green. I cleaned them up and figured I had better shoot them. There was some of them that seemed weak and a few that didnt fire at all. Believe it or not they were in there from earley 60's. I just forgot to ever take them out. I went into the Army in the earley 60's and I wore the gun belt when I straped on my Ruger single six and went hunting jack rabbits. After I came out of the Army I had put on weight and the gun belt not longer fit me so I just threw it in my old Army trunk and got another one, and dug it out to give to my grandson and there was about 30 of them in the belt.
