Any additives needed for #2 heating oil for use in diesel?

I have been running #2 heating oil in my diesel machines for years now. John Deere 410 Loader/Backhoe, Case 1835C Skid Steer, Hustler 340 Mower with Kubota 4 Cylinder diesel engine, and my 4x4 TCI Forklift with a 4 cyl Ford diesel. Never had a problem.

The problem I HAVE encountered is I have to remove my hand cranked pump from the tank at the shop before they will deliver heating oil. Home heating oil has a red dye in it to supposedly deter truckers from using it. If caught by DOT folks, there's a hefty fine for not using the diesel at the pumps and paying the taxes. Now, the law is Home heating oil can't be used in "Off Road" machinery either. I simply remove the pump, install a pipe and cap, after they fill, remove the pipe/cap and reinstall the pump.

Where I am at...#2 home heating oil and #2 AG fuel is identical..even to the red dye! Highway diesel...totally different story.

I've been running #2 heating oil in my tractors since 1999, not one problem.

Just to clarify, are any of you who have been using #2 heating oil bothering with any additives before using it in your tractors? I was planning on putting in some of the fuel stabilizer stuff and perhaps a couple ounces of 2 stroke oil given that I have it around. I wasn't going to fiddle with cetane boosters or anything like that. Maybe I don't need to do anything at all.

An elderly neighbor almost ran out of heating fuel this winter due to a truck delivery screw up on the island. Her nephew went out and bought 40 gallons of #2 heating oil in diesel containers as emergency backup which luckily was not needed. I agreed to buy the fuel from her thinking I'd use it in my tractor. Question is whether there are any additives that would be found in diesel fuel that are not in the otherwise identical #2 home heating oil? If additives are needed any suggestions on where to get them? Tx.

Here at the confluence of the Ohio and Muskingum Rivers there is only 1 fuel.
It's used in diesel engines and for heating homes.

^This is plain screwy.
Why do we need 3 labels to burn the same thing on the road in our homes and off the road?

Im not sure on anyones age here . But does anyone realize that the High Sulpher Off road diesel fuel . Is the same excat stuff that it was before all this Lower sulpher Red dye bs ever was dreamed up

In most cases the red stuff is the same as the clear stuff, same diesel except the color.
