Thats what i thought. I tried to get onto MTF but could never activate my membership? Not real big of a deal, many of the folks are the same. The main guy admin of the yanmar forum i beleive is mark777 or something. I have seen him either here or Hoye, but dosent seem i have seen him here lately. They also dont seem to have as many regulars or posts as here, but maybe me?

Not a big deal to me, cause i have let the other forums i use to be a member lapse here recently as i have been on this one.

I usually go to Iboats.com for boats,

letstalksnow.com for my old k10 chevrolet, those guys know um in and out, but has not had much activity in it lately, i joined 6 yrs or so ago. Many of those guys are up north so the salt eats um up and many say they dont drive um daily cause of the age?

Im not trying to have a repeat here or run you off or anything. Im not on anyones side, i like cary, all i know is Cary from GA no idea who he is other than the Inet guy. Same with you and Wayne, and Mark i take what you say with your experience, i do not know you on the street either. We are all adults and have diff personalities, these sometimes dont come across the best in words, given many of us use sarcasm and will speak our mind.

Saying that i will say this... Who was it to first jump on someone who bought a VN recon and thell them that they just screwed up.. comited the 7th dedliest sin, it will break in 10 hours and you wont get parts from your guy and now you want free advice from me after not buying from me. I got so tired of hearing this before i had even bought atractor i almost did not return and become a member here. I found that those were the minority and that not all folks were like that, they would help you no matter who rebuilt it where it was from etc. Were ALL here for fre advice thats what these forums are built on and thats the whole success of these things is that guys like us with an obsure tractor, car, gun, boat, whatever can come togeather regardless of knowledge and experience level of any one person and put our heads togeather. It should not be about who sold the part, the tractor, or any of that.

I read on the week of so i spent on and off Lurking on MTF a guy who wanted a starter. He got advice and it was determined by others as well as himself that was the problem. Folks pointed out websites and dealers gave their own price quotes out to him. Well he decides to get a starter from place C (i really dont remember from where) a dealer (again i dont remember names) tells him that that was one of those Tiawan starters and he had a much better part made in germany that was only $60 (dont remember the diff) more and was much better etc etc. That just rubbed me the wrong way, one of the few things there that i read and did not like. Here i have seen way more and way worse.

Must be tough being a dealer on a forum like this. There's an obvious conflict of interest because they sell things for a living and are interacting with prospective, motivated buyers of their wares. If you think your part is better but more expensive than the other dealer's, what do you do? If you say nothing, you don't make a sale for sure. If you say something, people think you're JUST trying to make a sale. There's no way to win. I guess I would rather the dealer speak their mind and let us make up our own minds. People will figure out pretty soon if they're just blowing smoke or they're a straight shooter. I have appreciated the dealer comments I have seen from Aaron, Wayne etc.

I haven't seen any condescending comments on here in my short time as a member, except maybe the guy who recently told me that I didn't consider my needs and bought too small a tractor, and that was annoying (and wrong.) Anyway, everybody says annoying things from time to time, even me , so it's good to give a little bit o' grace. :2cents:

Ginormous, you missed them (the coments that is) by at least a year aproaching 2. Like Ernie said many folks have left this board. There may only be 10-20 regulars on here.

If you doubt me search VN recon, see some of the comments you find. They may be more like those tractors will break, they have more problems etc. They dont say your stupid to your face but it comes across.

Not everyone is like many of us and enjoy everything tractor or whatever the subject matter on a thing that your discussing and will only appear when there is a problem and not stay to help others in need going through the same. So what happens is that it seems like every type of tractor sold has a problem. Im not saying that there are as many fredericks tractors with a problem as VN. But as agreed the dealers of many VN tractors may be a used car lot, a farm feed store, some guy who just sells stuff etc and they may not be eqquiped or want to help the purchaser out as well as Spalding, or LMTC or Ernie so they come here with a problem.

Trust me there is no way every VN tractor has a problem, ever seen the pics of the yard at VN1 tractor, there are hundreds of those things and there are several big lots in the east and texas. They prolly double the fredricks capacity easy (all combined). Yes im forgetting the guy like ernie or others that may buy them a continer at the time getting 20-40 machines in at once.

My point is if a guy buys one and it works and he is not a forum typewe never hear from him, he may just go to a local mech. that fixes what he may have.
