I will be buying some attachments over the next year or so, and being a little **** it would be nice for them all to match. Is any brand a little better than the others? I was looking at a box blade, PHD, and rotary cutter. At this time I was looking at Land Pride since my dealer carries them.
Thanks.

If you're comparing the same levels of quality and capacity, the differences may be slight. You can always buy an implement rated for much more horsepower than your tractor's as long as it will fit and not exceed the tractor's capabilities. Comparing that to a low buck version for low horsepower light duty use isn't a fair comparison.

Most times you do get what you pay for. It pays to get smart about what's available and realistically analyze your needs. I wouldn't make a decision based on what's available closest down the road. Most dealers have access to more product lines than may appear on their lot. Get exactly what you want. Not necessarily what the dealer wants to sell.

As for all of it matching, spray paint's cheap. I've got most colors here except green. Color isn't part of my decision criteria.

I think that you will find a large number of high quality manufacturers of small implements. Price being higher is one way to guage an implements quality, but is not necessarily the best one. Often some of the larger tractor manufacturers will have the highest priced implements, which might just be a rebranded and repainted version of something you could find elsewhere.

My two cents... major attachments like backhoes, FEL, et all are better engineered if you stick with the brand... add on's 3 point hitch implements like rakes, rotary cutters et all should be shopped!
I own an JD 4310 with 430 FEL and a 48 BH and after connecting and un-connecting (mounting - dismounting) I can't imagine someone else doing it better... as a matter of fact I am confident nobody else does it better with these major attachments.
Reading other threads JD has all beat at simplicity of attaching/unattaching re:FEL and BH!
Even though "others" make their major attachments( Orange, Blue, or Green), I'd bet that those "others" can't duplicate (without legal action) the design!
Major options... stick with the color!

Just my 2 cents!

Forget about color, but look for a well engineered hd piece of equipment that looks built to last!

The majors often times buy from the short-liners and only badge-engineer the products. So watch that you do not get caught up in the propriatary parts hassel!

Now I do not know about on the little tractors, but on ag-tractors often the short-line aftermarket makers have better loaders and back hoes available, than the brand ones.

The best attachments I have are Rhino, but I couldn't care less whether all my attachments are the same brand. Nor does color matter to me. A blue attachment with an orange tractor is fine by me, as long as it does the job.

Funny thing is I have a 4' Howse box blade. It was the cheapest one I could find. The paint is bad, the decals are pealing and the welds look terrible and yet it does the job.

The brands of implements that you get given to you that you found grown up in a field and the ones you get at an auction for half price are always better than the ones you pay full list for at the dealer.

I have Land Pride. Good equipment. I'd stick with your dealer's brands for parts and service on the big items, and buy the rotary cutter's and the like at the discount store's.
