Sounds like you have a very well stocked local dealer. In my area, I have heard of many people waiting for big 3 parts. With all the different models, most dealers rely on a distributer for complete parts stocking. If you can wait for the next truck, many times a weekly occurance, then you are OK. Otherwise, you will pay expedited shipping with them, too.

For Jinmas, there is no MSRP price. As a result, parts prices are competitively set. For commecial use, where time is money, you would want to see how well your local Jinma dealer is stocked. ie you need to fix it today, vs tomarrow or next day. Depends on it use. For a secondary tractor, as the poster indicated, 2-3 day shouldn't be a major issue. A good, well stocked local dealer, can make that moot.

My boss at work has a Belarus 260. He says it is a strong sturdy tractor but he has had issues with the electrical system. That is the complaint I have heard in the past. He is planning on sell his after he gets it re-wired. I seem to think they have a positive ground.

In my experience with my local John Deere dealer if I get to them before a certain time and they can oder the part, the part will be in the next afternoon or the day after. I just ordered a set of corn plates for a CaseIH planter and they had them in 2 days. So far I am really pleased with the turn around on tractor parts around here compared to ordering parts for other things. I guess with a piece of farm equipment, if it is down, you are losing money.

I don't know what all the issues were with the Belarus, but I know a Kubota dealer who also sold Belarus, and since they sold for about half what a comparable sized Deere would cost, he sold quite a few in my neighborhood, BUT a few years ago, he dropped that line entirely. And while I've heard rumors of such actually existing, I've never actually met a Belarus owner who wasn't hoping he could find someone to buy it, so he could get something else. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I would recommend looking in to the Task Master line of tractor. It is just about as American as a tractor gets. There are three models of tractor, 26, 32, and 38 H.P. They have a 1200# lift capacity. They are all 3 cylinder diesel engines with 4wd, 2 speed PTO, 3pt cat1 hitches, 2 hydraulic pumps, and all the safety equipment necessary for the U.S. Market. jason@tm-tractors.com

Jason, how about offering a Task Master dealer that is within driving distance (St Louis), that he can go check out the dealer and parts supply?

Positive ground is no big deal unless you are trying to retrofit stuff.

Tractor electronics should be easy.. though i know some manufacturers make it hard while adding modern convienience.

I'm spoiled by my antique tractors... 3 wires on the genny.. one wire to the dash.. and one wire to the ignition coil.. wires to the spark plugs.. One wire to the starter..etc..

My jd with a magneto even has less than that..

I have a Jinma 224 and had a few problems with it but they were easily fixable. The dealers that sell them at least mine was very helpful and even when I was out of warranty he had parts to me in 2 to three days and actually didn't charge for them. Try getting a hydraulic pump when out of warranty from a different tractor dealer free of charge. Mine runs strong and the money I saved I bought a lot of attachments. The parts if needed are certainly a lot cheaper than the big threes' and I don't need my tractor to make a living. I sure do have a lot of fun with it though. It gets my garden done, dirt moved, post holes augered and snow removed. Heres a pic of my Red Chinese Beauty that treats me well for the money spent.. You can check out the pics of my tractor and the plot I tilled if you want @ http://users.adelphia.net/~gizmo/

Thanks for the pic. I love all tractors.. no matter where they are from.

One observation I have seen. On most of the jinmas, I notice the hyd pump has a QD on the outlet side.. seems that is just a bad problem waiting to happen... I wonder it there isn't any way to plumb the line down to a block with a relief installed into it.. hard wire it.. so there is no qd to pop loose.. add the qd to the other side of the block. Heck.. wouldn't even need a block.. just plumb the relief right in befor ethe qd.. seems like it would save alot of pumps from deadheading..

With the QD's a zip tie does the trick right behing the coupling that slides back. With the zip tie in place it is unable to do so. The QD's make it easy to disconnect the loader quickly and easily.
