any dishwasher mechanics out there?

If I have to hand wash a dish.. it goes back into the cubbord when I'm done. i never did understand the concept of having to wash the dish before the dishwasher did!

I've never had any luck with GE appliances. Will never own another GE. Once , I owned a GE washing machine. It walked all over the house. One day when it started walking , I opened the front door & let it walk out. It never returned. If you buy another dishwasher. Spend a little more $ & get one where you don't have to hand wash the dishes B-4 you wash them in the dish washer

I think it depends on the appliance. About 15 years ago I bought a Maytag front-loading washer. Complete POS, so bad there were lawsuits over it.

Anyway, because front loaders were pretty new, I bought an extended warranty. Well, just before the 5 years was up, it needed the same repair for the fourth time, and under the terms of the warranty I was entitled to a new washer. So, I got another Maytag, and for some reason this started a second five year extended warranty running. Another POS, and after about 4 years it was replaced under the warranty.

Only this time they told me they would not give me another Maytag. They said they would give me any other brand, but wanted me to take a GE. Now maybe they cold get it for a better price, but my belief was that they knew the repair records on all the different appliances and wanted to get one that would not break down, since they would be on the hook to fix it for another 5 years.

Well, 6 years later, that GE is still going strong. Lasts like a mother-in-law's curse.

Well. the dw'er is doing fine now, AFAIK.. but now my DSL modem took a dump. went to log on yesterday and say the dang thing flashing.. after an hour of tech support.. they conclude dit is a bad modem and I eed another one.. just dies outta the blue.. has never given me problems before... was a 2wire unit from embarq.. 'bout a year old.
