Treefarmer,
I've dealtwith Rhineheart before. Didn't much like them. I also bought from Goss Tractor (their full name is Goss Truck and Tractor...they don't sell trucks anymore).
I don't know if you can look up any of my old posts on this subject, but you should try. I went into some detail as to why I chose the dealer I did.
Reader's Digest version: I bought in Dec of '99. Rhineheart had a
M4700 with 60 hours or so on it. I wanted to buy it. After much price searching I determined their
M4700 was worth $17,000 as it sat. At the time the new 4900 was coming out in March. I went by several times to look at the tractor. There was no room to test drive it...if you've been there you know what I mean. Plus the tractor was burried. They have a very small area out front where they keep their tractors (unless they've moved to the new location, which they were suppose to do a year ago, but hadn't last time I passed by.), anyway, when I asked the salesman if I could test drive it he said he couldn't get it out, but he would let me sit in the seat and start it...yippee! When we talked about price, I told him I'd buy it for $17,000. He said they wouldn't take anything less than $17,900. In fact, he already had the tractor sold to another fellow, he was getting his finances in order and would probably be in later that day or the next morning with the money. BUT, if I decided to buy right then he'd let me have it. This, IMHO, is selling at it's sleaziest level. I walked.
Oh, one other thing, when I was buying my brother was also buying. He wanted a 3710 HST. I told the saleman this. I told him we would both sign contracts at the same time IF the price was right. He said this was his best price, sorry.
My brother and I ended up buying from Goss. He got his 3710 and I bought a
M5400. Both were the best prices around.
I live in Adairsville. Rome is much closer to me than Jasper. But I will not go to Rhineheart for anything. This morning I'm headed to Goss to buy an oil filter, air filter, and a pin for my FEL. It's much quicker and easier to go to Rome, but because of how they did business with me, no way will I go there.
Oh, by the way, that fella who was on his way to Rhienheart to buy the 4700 I was wanting, he never showed. I got a call from the saleman about two weeks after I walked from Rhienheart. He said he'ld let me have it for $17,500. I enjoyed telling him that my brother and I had bought from Goss and he was welcome to call them a check.
Is this really the Reader's Digest version?
Oh, so you know, Rhineheart also owns Cedartown. I found two good Kubota dealerships, Goss, and the one in Blue Ridge, GA, up 575.
Goss has maybe 60 or 70 new Kobutason their lot, plus lots of equipment. Ifyou want to test drive them the keys in it (which everone you want to sample). You don't even have to ask, just jump in and go. What you want to bet I play with a M9000 this morning? Or a
M120?
Hope this helps.
