I didn't get any recommendations for any particular trailer brands, so I thought I might be able to find some people that have experience with the brands that I've found available near me. They are:

Bartley
Big Tex
C&C Industries
Hudson
Premier
Worthington
Aluma
Holmes

I'm looking for good and bad experiences. Also, I haven't been able to decide if I should go 14' or 16'. The tractor is 13'5", so a 14' trailer would just fit it, but I'd have to leave my implements at my property. A 16' trailer would handle the tractor w/box scraper attached and if I didn't have an implement attached it would give me a little more room for the tractor. However, I don't have a lot of room in the backyard for manuevering and the 14' would work better for that. This is almost as tough as deciding on the tractor.

Thanks,
Darrell

My first trailer was a Hudson. Bought it about 1980. It was 14' with tandem axles. I liked it. But it was not wide enough for my my B2910 with 72" MMM. It had 14.5" wheels and tires with 1 axle brakes. I would not rate it as a high quality trailer. Neighbor bought the trailer from me and is happy with it.
My current trailer is a Big Tex. 16' with 2' dovetail and tandem axle. 15" wheel and tires with 2 axle brakes. Fits my tractor with MMM on with no problems. Quality is good. I have had it for 4 years with no problems. Here is a link to the model 70CH. Click Here

You should go 18' or 20', brakes on both axles.

Might also look into Pequea. There is alocal dealer that sells farm equipment and they don't normally carry them but can sell them. The sell a lot of other Pequea equipment. It's nice though to be able to see an item in person though.

I use a 14' dump trailer and put the bucket over the tongue, it works out pretty well and keeps the trailer length down.

I have a 16' BigTex 7k pipe trailer brakes on one axle and it has preformed well, it is too short for my L2800 with FEL and BH or BB. I bought this trailer for my previous tractor.
I don't need brakes on both axles, my truck(Pete 385) makes up for the lack of the additional braking.
Look at several brands before you decide. Inspect welding quality, structural layout, conduits for wiring harness and paint quality.
Trailers are usually stored outside and will start rusting quickly.

Are you going to sell it?

PJ and H&H are both good choices. Both companies have web sites.

I've got a 20+5' x 102" (wide) Ridgeline gooseneck, 14,000lb. GVWR, 2 axle, brakes on all 4 wheels, lift-up dovetail, spring assist ramps, single jack. Granted, it's not on your list, but I still recommend them to anyone who has the inclination to buy one.

Trailers are like garages, shops, barns, shed, ect. No matter how big you get, at some point, you'll wish you bought bigger. In addition to having room for more goodies, it's nice to be able to position the load forward or rearward as needed to get a good "balance". Extra deck legnth gives you that flexability.

All good advice ......just make sure you get a spare tire & some type of carrier for it no matter what the brand. Been there! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
