Any good Guacamole Recipes

Thanks guys for the recipes. We try to make everything fresh. Really getting away from as much processed food as possible. Although Ingles grocery stores have this Wholly Guacamole ( the brand name) that is really good.

I will try these and see which we like. We have some jalapenos and banana peppers my wife caned last summer I will chop up and put in them.

David, I think that Wholly Guacamole is available almost everywhere; Walmart, Sam's Club, Costco, Kroger's, etc. in this area. And yep, it's not bad, if you aren't going to make your own fresh.

Yessir! Pico de gallo mixed with avocado will make a decent guacamole, but probably a little hot for some folks taste because of the peppers in pico.

Rocksprings, when you make pico, do you remove the tomato seeds and just use the flesh of the tomato? That's how traditional pico de gallo is made, but I leave in the seeds and extra liquid for more of a salsa consistency.

We normally just use chopped onion, garlic, lime juice and some picante sauce. Garlic is essential.

Funny thing, I never really cared for guacamole, I guess I never really had good guacamole. All we had ever had was plain, the Wholly Guacamole changed my mind, now we love it.

I always remember the first time I ever heard of guacamole. We were visiting in Odessa, TX, in 1959 and our host asked if we liked that "walk-a-mile" dip.:laughing:

Cut up an avocado.
Throw avocado pieces in the blender.
Add salt, pepper, chili.
Throw away the blender.

We use finely chopped onion, a pinch of fresh chopped cilantro, a pinch of fresh chopped parsley, sea salt ( large grain - not ground or processed ), lemon juice and crushed avocado with a fork....

I'm too lazy to make my own; just bought the Wholly Guacamole at Sam's Club this afternoon. Surprisingly, even my wife liked it.
