I say drop the 25 and give the 2660 a BH. Less product for dealers to stock and makes the machine more desirable as now a BH can be added later

Love the concept!

But why should half to three quarters of the people pay for the extra subframe componets on the BX frame that they would never use, it is not as simple as hanging the backhoe on the back and calling it good. From front to rear there are added componets to make the frame stronger.

Let's just see if the loud minority can be heard by a manufacturer over the paying buyers.:) When Kubota starts dropping models, we'll know.:)

I bought the BX24 because I needed the BH option. I would have preferred to wait.

I agree in concept but I think the assumption is that you would add the subframe with the BH if there was an option to add it to the BX2260 or other BX models. I don't think that's going to happen and here's why:

When deciding between a BX25 and adding a Woods BH to my former BX1860, I looked extensively into the Woods subframe and how it mounts. It is basically a bolt on subframe that looked pretty substantial to me. However, having decided to go the BX25 route and now looking at the BX25 subframe with the BH off (for snow duty), I'm rather impressed with the heft and design of the subframe on the BX25. It is more than a bolt on addition and is welded to the stock frame as well as bolted. It has girding, for lack of a better word, connecting the right and left side subframes both in front of and behind the transmission, and also seems to have an approx 1" - 1.5" sold steel rod connecting both halves of the frame that runs accross the top of the HST. I don't see Kubota "de-engineering" the BX25 subframe to make it a bolt on option for the other models. I know that's the case with the B series and up, but apparently, Kubota feels this added integration is required to mount a BH on a BX model.

we do many backhoes with bolt on subframes. None are as well engineered as the BX25. You just can't match a purpose build design.

I believe if Kubota sticks with "our old design is good enough" while other companies improve their designs, they will suffer in the market place.

I watch the video on the new JD1026R, the backhoe does not have a subframe nor is it a 3PH but more of a vertically arranged bracket. The guy gets the loader and backhoe on in about 4 minutes. The damage prone cooling fan is also gone. I believe that JD currently has the better tractor, Kubota should not be resting on there laurels right now.

I believe JD will only be offering the BH option on the 1026 which tells me the frame is designed for it from the factory. No BH option on the 1023. Seems to me JD is following Kubota in this regard. The other upgrades are nice and I'm sure Kubota will match or even improve on the key ones in time.
