I change implements very often, from blade to brush hog, to rototiller with the brush hog and rototiller being a PITA to hook up to. Almost like the arms will barely open wide enough for the pins. I've been thinking about trying one of the quick hitch units from Northern Tool, but so far there are no reviews. Here is the model I'm looking at: http://m.northerntool.com/products/shop~tools~product_200660668_200660668?hotline=false

I've used quick hitches on large ag tractors a lot and they are great, but never tried an aftermarket one or one on a tractor this small. Anyone else tried one?

Harbor Freight has a quick hitch that has had some good comments on TBN.

3-Point Quick Hitch for Tractors - 27-3/16" Clearance

Although more expensive, I'm partial to the Delta Hook QH?

3 point hitch | 3 point quick hitch | 3 point tractor hitch | The Deltahook

I have a Northern Tool style quick hitch. I added a homemade hydraulic top link and it's so easy to hook any implement up. I modified most of my equipment to fit and most times I only need to get off the tractor to attach the PTO.

I really like the idea behind the Delda hook as it would make things even easier but as rigustafson points out it's expansive.

That Delta Hook looks awesome, but dang that's expensive! I don't know if I can justify that much just for an adapter basically.

I recently put Pat's Quick Hitch on the LS. It is easier to adapt to the variety of old 3pt implements that I have. What I don't know yet is if the extended arms will get in the way of remounting the backhoe.

Is your tractor a J series?

It's an XJ, newer version of your 2023 and the 2027

It gets more expensive since you have to buy a plate for each implement. If you don't, it's not so "quick" and you have to move the plate to the next implement. I've been using the HF model on the Ford 3910 for the last 6-7 years with no problems. I think mine was eighty-something bucks back then but the current price is still the best $100 you will ever spend on tools.

One area that needs to be checked with any of the QHs is the implement must be SAE spec. My old flail mower wasn't and I had to modify it. But now I can hook up any of the implements in seconds. (Took a little practice backing up to them.) Only the PTO needs personal attention if the implement is PTO driven.

I love my Quick Hitch. Got several cheap ones I had to modify a hair to make work right. Several implements had to get modified to fit, but that's only once & easy if you can weld.

Hitching up & unhitching without getting off the seat is priceless (requires a hydraulic top link or TnT to do that most of the time though).

I can't speak specifically to the LS J series but I owned a Kubota B2410 which is in that same class. I had a Pat's Easy Change which worked very well. I actually bought a traditional quick hitch early on but I returned it. That one (and I think they are all like this) requires that each implement have a set of cat 1 to cat 2 bushings on their lower pins. That can add up if you have a lot of implements and can also be a hassle if you borrow or rent anything. I decided I would rather not do that so I bought the Pat's.

Either will work on your size tractor so no worries there.

Good luck.
John
