Any J Series Owners Tried a Quick Hitch?

Correct, all QHes are designed for Cat 3 pins. I have a couple implements (rototiller & ancient flail mower at least) I haven't bothered putting bushings on yet & they work just fine without. I'm sure the pins are wearing faster, but noting noticeable.

The QH puts the impliments a few inches further back. It can cause PTO shafts to be to short & decreases lift capacity. Not a big issue on my 3,500lbs (loaded) 32hp L3200, but probably an issue on a smaller machine.

I recently put Pat's Quick Hitch on the LS. It is easier to adapt to the variety of old 3pt implements that I have. What I don't know yet is if the extended arms will get in the way of remounting the backhoe.

DaveNJ - Did you ever get an opportunity to try remounting your BH with Pat's Quick Hitch installed? I have an XJ2025H TLB due to be delivered soon and am considering buying Pat's Quick Hitch system as long as it doesn't interfere with the BH.

Really? You spent an extra $75 so you wouldn't have to spend $5 on bushings? :confused3: I guess everybody needs to justify something. I don't use any bushings on my implements. And I don't have to get off the tractor to connect the top link. That's worth more to me than five bucks.

Haven't used the backhoe in a while but I need to install 300' of electrical conduit before the end of the month so I will let you know. FYI, once you get used to it the BH comes off and on fairly easily.. The first time maybe a little tough. Also, on mine, the hydraulic hoses disconnect in a way that they were too short to reconnect the loop when the BH was removed. My dealer spoke with LS and gave me a hydraulic hose connection to complete the loop at no charge, I think if the factory installers make the hose disconnect at a different location you have enough hose to make the loop with the backhoe off.

Harbor Freight has a quick hitch that has had some good comments on TBN.
