If it ran before you replaced the fuel pump, and doesn't run now, start by eliminating the fuel related potential problems. I'm no JD mechanic, but I would check the fuel filter, and make sure that fuel is getting that far freely. See if there is water in the fuel at that point, or if the fuel is cloudy. Once you know it is working there, move up the fuel line to the pump. Make sure there is fuel coming freely into the pump, and run the pump with a short piece of hose, or a funnel into a container to make sure the pump is working right. Once you verify that there is fuel past the pump check the fuel delivery system. I'm not sure if your model has fuel injection, or a carburetor. If it has a carburetor, it could be as simple as a float that is stuck, or a choke that is stuck in the closed position, etc. The carburetor, or fuel injection system also needs some air, so make sure that the air filters are new, or clean also. The best approach is one step at a time in a methodical way. There are only so many things in the system to go wrong. I suspect that it is something easy to overlook like the air filter (try running the engine with it off briefly) but critical to the function of the engine.
It is difficult to get help if you walk into a room, and start yelling at folks when they can't guess what your problem is though. Just relax, and think this thing through, ask questions when you need to, and you will work it out without spending big bucks.
