I am new here just traded in my tc40d on a new tc55da .I wanted to know if the ehss problem's are worked out.I have less than 1 hour on it seems like a strong tractor plenty of hp. I got it to pull my t6 harley and use the loader .The dealer told me the new 270tl loader is the same as the 18la but it is alot different than my 16la.Ive read alot in here there was alot of info.In one i read a screeching sound from the midde of a tc40d if it is 4x4 there was a time my tractor had a stick between the drive shaft cover for the front wheel drive made a lot of noise.Any help on the steering or the trans would be great. You have a good site here . David

After reading some of the post on these issues they answered my ? I cant wait to get my tractor to work and break it in . NH makes a good product alot better than what i had for many years the 4x4 tc tractors are great i wish i had one 25 years ago .They really do more than they should for the size tractor they are .My TC40D sold me on my new one hope its just as good .

I have a little over 100hrs on mine now and never had any issues on the tractor itself besides 2 recalls so far. Works A1 for me.

I must have been taking a nap.... What problems did they have with the EHSS ? New news to me. From what I understand all it consists of is an extra set of wet clutches that let it engage in both directions. I only have a couple hours on mine, more idle time than working, but from what I see it is more than adequate for my needs. I hope to start buiulding my back hoe brackets next week if my wife doesn't find another location to visit. My dealer ( 30 miles away ) is so confident he offered free transportation during the warranty period for any mechanical problems.

I did a search on TC55DA alot of info. The owners manual said if you shift the shuttle quickly it will go into neutral then you have to shift to neutral then foward or reverse to reset it .It may be a fail safe .On a couple of post this might have happend ?There was a few post on steering and weight on the front end . It seems the more weight for the rear ballast the better steering .Im going to put fluid in the tires next week then see how mines going to be.I got to use the tractor today almost 4 hrs the ehss is smooth most of the time .Its going to take a few hrs to get used to it.I like the brakes back on the right side .Does anyone know if Bradco makes a subframe kit to hookup a 509 skidsteer backhoe to the TC55 it should be the same as a NH i dont want to use 3 point hitch conversion plates only. Thanks for any info.

That happens if you not fully engange the leaver, or if a solinoid is bad then you loose for example forward. Never had yet a soinoid going bad yet, but found myself a few times with the shuttle shift leaver not fully pulled back or forward. I think that is more a operator problem than anything else.

As discussed in earlier posts, adding weight to the rear tires will not take weight off the front axle. The only way to take weight off the front axle and lighten steering is to hang weight off the rear of the tractor where it has a lever effect using the rear axle as a pivot point.

I could have made a better choice and said event or issue than problems. My dealers always took care of the small issues i had on the 40 and im not at all worried about this tractor . My family has had ford or newholland tractors for the last 50 years and day to day there the best choice for all around work .They all had there strong points and weak points but we still own most all of them and all are still going strong. And yes the way you operate them and set them up is important for them to last. Right now i need to get the new 55 set up and put it to work .As it stands used the tractor today and found out not to use the inching pedal as much as the shuttle it works smooth and seems to be what i was wanting out of the unit. Thanks for the help.
