Why not call it an 8320, after all it has 83hp. I thought that the 60 series was going to be the cab version of the 20 series, guess that I am wrong again.

Nothing new.:D

Local dealer telling me cab version should be available in January, however they keep moving the date back. Numbers on tractors are always a challenge. It would be great if it had about 10 more hp, that way I could use it to mow with as well. Power show is comming up next month. I will post what I find out.

So, Im surprised they dont just call it an 8520. Just a 7520 with more HP.

Larry,
It is more than just HP. It has the new Tier III engine. More pollution controls and plumbing, which makes it harder to work on and possibly get parts for.<<<sigh>>

What are you trying trying to mow with? I just got back from a Mahindra service school and was talking with one of the Mahindra service reps, and asked one of them, that had been at the Successful Farming utility tractor test, how it had gone. He told me that they had a 15' batwing brush hog, and wanted to try tractors on it. All of the manufacturers turned down the opportunity to try it, but Mahindra put a 7520 on it and they ran it 4 hours in thigh high grass and they said it did such a good job that they mowed more area than they have ever mowed before.

I'm sure it would pull a batwing mower, just depends upon how high the grass is and grade. I can pull the batwing with my 6000 if I go slow in a low gear.

I am mowing with a 10 foot hay conditioner mower that has a min pto requirement of 75 hp. I also have hills on my property. Put on a cab with air, and I would say 85 hp would be minimum. Have looked at the Massey Furgusons 5455 and their 3600 series. Pretty nice but pricey.

I see what you mean. A/C would definately make a noticable difference in the usable HP. Also the mowers of today must require a lot more HP than the mower conditioners we used in the 60's and 70's. We used to use 50 PTO HP tractors to run a 8' mower conditioner, mowing a alfalfa, clover, timothy mix, and a couple of times when in a pinch we used the Allis Chalmers WD on the mower. She got the job done with only about 40 pto HP. My brother and I still own the WD and have done a little tractor pulling with it. Today she will crank out 80 plus PTO HP, a bit healthier than when Dad was farming with it.
