Hello,

I am in the market for a new tractor and I have been intrigued by RK's offerings. The RK55 would probably work for me, but something more like the TYM T654 might suit me better. Anyone know if they have plans to expand their line yet? Thanks!

I was looking hard at a T654 as well for the same reason when I found out about the RK line and asked the same thing a couple of months ago. They said they had no plans on adding one between the RK55 and RK74.

It almost pushed me out of considering Rural King but in the end I brought my wife out to test drive the RK55 and the RK74 and the HST ended up being a deciding factor for us, so that's the way we went. That plus the bigger warranty on the 55HP and under tractors.

Are there any stores near you that have the RK74 in stock? Would definitely be worth trying them both out if you are able to.

Thank for the info! There is a store local to me that has a RK74, I stopped real quick last week to have a look at them. Just seemed like a little too much machine, but I didn't drive either of them. Unfortunately the price increase is quite heafty as well. It's on my to-do list to drive them though. I also have a local TYM dealer so I can look at a T654.

I am currently using an L4630 Kubota (GST, 45hp, 40PTO) running a 6ft brush cutter, in heavy stuff it can definitely struggle, so I wanted something with noticable more PTO power. The RK55 (S, 55hp, 45PTO) doesnt sound like a lot on paper, but there has to be some variance is manufacturer PTO power ratings. Kubota loses 5, RK loses 10, both with gear transmissions. Something is probably skewed, just not sure who!

Thanks to all for participating in this thread. We looked at the 65HP tractor to slot in-between the 55 and the 74 but we do not think the market would be large enough to support doing so. A big consideration is price point, and at $42.9k for a fully loaded turbocharged RK74 with cab, power shuttle and self-leveling loader, we are offering the 74 at or below a 65HP price of that of our competitors. Hope that the explanation makes sense, at least for now. We are still in our first full year as a tractor brand, and know that our line is not set forever. Again, thanks for the question.

Thank you for the information! I understand your decision, its always hard to judge the market. From an outsiders perspective I was curious about the TYM654 for a few reasons over the RK55 (Other than the obvious size and power increase)

- I belive it has no DPF, but haven't been able to confirm.
- Power shuttle transmission
- 540E PTO

I know the RK74 has these same features, but it is also a larger (con for me since I have some tight quarters in a lot of areas) more expensive machine. I had a quote from a local TYM dealer for $32k for a T654 Cab/Loader/4x4, it was a syncro shuttle though. Waiting on a power shuttle quote. The RK74's $43k price tag pushes it noticable out of my comfort zone unfortuntely.

Just my $0.02!

There are two versions of the TYM T654 still being sold by dealers, one with Yanmar engine on the same platform as the TYM T654 and one with Deutz engine on the same platform as the TYM T754. Which TYM T654 were you quoted?

This is news to me, I do know the quote was for a Deutz powered machine. Trying to google "T654" with "Yanmar" turned up nothing helpful for me. What do you know about it?

It may or may not be. The newer ones have Deutz engines. You can ask the dealer which engine is in it. The price of $32k is very low for a new model T654 with the new platform and Deutz engine. That is below what the dealer would pay for it. He may be quoting an older clearance model, and I only mention that to advise you to find out what it is you are buying and how old it is. Nothing more than that, we think that any customer should take advantage when they get a great deal, regardless of brand. TYM obviously makes great tractors in our view, whether RK or in TYM brand.
