I've had my 2320 for a little over nine months now and it has about 50 hours on it so far and I love it. I traded in a JD 4010 SCUT that I bought from a friend with almost 500 hours on it. The difference in the two is amazing. 4010 was rated at 18hp (according to different sources) running a 54" mmm. The 2320 rated at 24 hp running a 54D mmm will mow circles around the 4010. Like everyone else has said, high gear is too fast to mow my 2 acres with and it look like anything.
Does great for plowing, discing, and tilling a large garden. My neighbor has a 2210 with several attatchments also, and he has borrowed mine several times to use the loader.
Currently have the 200cx loader, Frontier 4' rear blade, Country line landscape rake, and my Woods BH6000 backhoe is sitting at the dealership waiting on my power beyond adapter.
And as far as it not being able to lift more than 500 lbs, it's a compact utility tractor after all. If I need to lift something that heavy I would borrow one of my dad's small fleet of tractors. 135 Massey with FEL, 231 Massey with FEL, or the TT75A New Holland.
Buy what you need for whatever work you will mostly be doing is my $.02
