How does grease get into the grey water drains ? We never pour grease down a drain.

You would be amazed at how much grease is left on stuff from the kitchen w/o deliberate dumping of grease. You would have to put nothing down the drain except clear water to avoid that.

I always use a paper towel after scraping & draining the pans. I use mostly all Cast Iron so scrubbing them with soap and water is not what I so most times anyways. The scrape with a good flat spatula and wipe out & occasional hot pan under water to loosen up stuck on stuff..
The woman is the one who I have to watch out for, (and kids back when) as she likes to pour water into pans and cook stuff on low walk away and make a mess of my C.I. pans (had one from last night she did Italian Sausage in .

I took control of my cast iron pans too.. She liked to soak them in hot soapy water all night then scrub with a SOS pad

We don't usually cook our food in grease. BBQ, microwave, steamed or oven baked. Anything that is greasy is scraped into the dog dish or the swill pail for the birds. Wiped with a paper towel which is tossed into the garbage. Unless I'm lighting the wood fire, then watch that greasy paper towel burn.

Retired couple has been on septic for 35 years and now issues...

I believe it is how they use it.

All of their neighbors have had problems... some big problems...especially the homes that are rentals.

The old folks use only septic safe, don't have a garbage disposal, have an extra washer lint trap and never put chemical down the drain or toilet paper... they have a little paper bag for tissue and tp that is burned every night.

The mandatory inspection reports all come back clear... the guy said lady... whatever you are doing keep it up... just glad everybody isn't like this... bad for business.
