Any suggestions on a camera?

Ok here's the deal. I have some motorcycle parts that I want to put on Craig's List, so I take the pictures and remove the USB card from the camera, put it in the computer and send the pictures along with the ad. Don't know how to do that with the cell phone pictures. So there you have it, don't need a high dollar camera. Thanks. RRM
You simply plug the cellphone into computer, or use an app like photo transfer. Dont need anything special.

Some newer android phones are a bit tricky to transfer images. When you plug in the USB cable, phone to desktop, swip down from the upper left hand corner. The phone will say charging with USB cable. Tap for more options. Tap on this message and you get USB options. Turn on File transfer. It will ask this every time. Now the computer can "see" the phone as an external drive and you can copy save the image folders from phone to computer.

As to cameras, The Nikon Coolpix L800 series are what we use mostly. We like these because they take rechargeable AA Batteries and used, they are under $40. The weakness to these, is how badly the Battery and SD card hatch/cover is designed. They are very easy to break if one is not careful about how these hatches work, and near impossible to fix if you break any of the latching tabs.

All the kids would shoot a picture on their phone and upload directly from their phone.

I have a Cannon Rebel. It looks like one can be had for u deer $500 now. If you want higher quality pictures and the ability to zoom in better, it’s a good choice.

From what you describe I also think a cell phone camera is a good choice. I have an iPhone 12 that takes good pictures. Once you figure out how to download, you will find it simple. For example my iPhone and IPad are linked to the same account and if I take a picture on my phone it shows up on my iPad a few minutes later. I also sprung for additional memory with my phone company for backup for $0.99 a month so all my photos are backed up.

So that's why the colors are awful, can't see the item for sale on FB for the all the contrast and they should have been cropped. People really should edit them all. o_O

Inadequate lighting will wreck color rendition and contrast on most sensors. If the photo is correctly exposed with adequate lighting, the color rendition should be just about correct for most people.

I really like the CL app.
Post straight from your phone.

Wife has an I-phone and it's a real PITA to transfer pictures from it to a PC. Some will transfer, some for whatever reason won't, and it seems to go stupid after a certain number of transfers. Got to disconnect the phone, re-connect the phone, sign back into the phone and it'll let you do a few more before it hangs up again. I think there were a few steps you had to go thru with the PC too to get to the screen where you could see the pictures. It certainly wasn't as straightforward as with my Canon Powershot.
This is with a Win10 PC, might work better with a mac, but we don't have one.

For some reason, my current Android phone won't transfer via USB, even after making the necessary settings. I use a free app called Send Anywhere which transfers over my home wifi from my phone to the computer. Works very well.

If I need one or two pics from my phone I usually transfer to Google drive, no bother with cables. Every couple months I cable up and dump all my pictures to my computer but that takes a long time.
