Sorry I missed your post.I know I have used Dialarcs in the past, but can't say I've ever worked on one.
Have you checked the points? You may have to clean them with some emery cloth, and re set the gap. Normally .010".
The points are to the left of the red circle.
Only thing I can think of, are you a member of Welding Web? There are 3 or 4 guys there who repair welders for a living, and very helpful with free information. They also know where to get cheap parts for welders.do you have any ideas on what to do?
Will do thanks SA. I've been kicking around adding a new inverter to the fold .......Can't have too many I guess! Lol
Thanks Terry I think I found one failed component. Just to the right of the HF points is a ceramic looking tube that is broke in half. The break looks fresh. I looked in the downloaded owners manual and it's a resistor that is part of the HF panel. I searched for the part number online and didn't see it available but it's a 100w 10 ohm resistor. I did see another Miller resistor with the same specs and it looks similar for about 30$. I also found newer looking off brand ones for 3-4$. Not sure if either or both would work? Also not sure if this is the only problem or if something else caused it to blow. Any suggestions on replacing the resistor or anything else to check?
dntfxr you're in good hand with 7A749 / Steve. White face Dialarc HF couple issues, need help
