Back in 2003 I purchased a 1998 VR636 Ingersoll-Rand telescopic material handler. I purchased it from a rental outfit with less than 2000 hrs. The framing outfits that I worked for in the past used the Skytrack 6036. I thought thats what I wanted to buy but was persuaded into giving the IR a one month demo trial. Of all the different units I had operated in the past, I very quickly was sold on this 6000lb lift capacity, 36 foot reach machine. A very well balanced machine. Its the only machine that I had operated that offers a clear line of site out thru the back of the machine from the seated position. There could be others with this important feature. It also came with the quick disconnect attachment feature, for changing out the forks, bucket or 12 foot truss jib. Powered by a Cummins turbo diesel, Three steering positions. Mechanically a very sound machine, that has required only minor repairs. Several years back in the winter months I repainted it as the old paint was the only thing that bothered me. Looks like a new one now. The way the economy is now those of you looking for this equipment can most likely get a good machine for the money. Hope this helps.
