Any Tricks to Make 3 Pt Attachment Easier?

I use big crow bar to help allign implement if need be. Also on large heavier attachments I use some grease on lower pins.

All of my implements are on furniture dollys--different sizes available and quite cheap at Harbor Freight. Makes moving and aligning them quite simple. Some have an extra 2X4 or 4X4 to accommodate needed height variations--for my rear blade, I even use an old kerosene can--this system has made changing attachments effortless. Regards, Mike

Like said. I keep my implements up on 4x4 or something like that depending on the implement.
I usually try to hook up the left arm first. Then from the right side of the tractor I can hand push the hydro peddles to creep the tractor forward or back to line up the right arm. I kind of know how long the top link should be adjusted to so I pre set that then raise or lower the implement to hook up the top link.

I'm sure quick hitches are a handy tool for a lot of things. But I don't want to have one more implement to keep working. And the trouble to adapt all my implements to the quick hitch.

Good luck

This sure worked out as a great option for us for both speed and safety.

Not a cheap option by any means, but with Top N Tilt I never have a problem hooking up my implements. I line the tractor up so the left arm is aligned first, then adjust the right with the side link. I keep the top link in "float" and can pull/push the ram by hand to hook up the top link. However, I can still see myself getting a quick hitch setup someday, or at least the Pat's easy change. I like to make things as simple as possible. :D

I highly recommend this setup. Nothing like backing up to an implement, lifting the arms and having it 2/3 connected needing only the top link. Not as easy perhaps as the quick hitch systems but cheaper and I don't need to modify any of my equipment.

Only thing I do different is instead of 4x4's I put everything on pallets, still ez to move around, dont usually even need a pry bar, plus if you need to move the implement you can just pick it up with the forks, dont have to hook up to it.

Telescoping link arms and/or a quick hitch are a huge help. For vertical alignment, drop the lift arms below the height of the pins and then manually raise them (with your hands) to the right height. Since there is no down-force on most three-point hitches, there is nothing but the weight of the arms to resit you lifting them. For horizontal alignment, it may be helpful to hook up one lift arm then get back on the tractor and inch it forward or backward until the other arm lines up properly.

Put my stuff on pallets too. Placing them on two pallets high also keeps things from freezing in and easier to hitch up to. Attachments are easily moved & manuvered when on a pallet.

I keep some bungee cords hanging by the attachments to keep the 3PH ears separated. Small blocks of wood come in handy too but for safely moving back breaking attachments an inch or a foot nothing beats a spud bar.

leverage is your friend.

Then again the more you use something the easier it gets...you jsut learn the tricks of the trade.

I find the more time I spend getting backed in square and evenly, the less time I spend swearing and yanking on stuff. A crowbar doesn't go astray either. All my stuff sits on wood blocks or pallets to keep it off the ground. A PHD stand cures a lot of cussing too..
