In that regard , the amount of money spent on equipment to prepare for snow is in direct opposition to the amount of snow actually received that year.

Joke all you want but this is exactly what happened to me just a couple years ago my friends. New tractor with loader and blade and I think we got a whopping 9 or 10 inches all winter.

The sad part about that isn't that you spent all of that money and didn't need to-
But you had a nice, new tractor and didn't get enough snow to enjoy yourself.

Around here, we've proven, if you buy a shiny brand new sled, there will be little to no snow that winter. If you sell your snowmobile during the summer, the coming winter will be snowstorm after snowstorm.

This is similar to what happened back in February this year. I sold my tractor and it snowed for two days. By the time I got the new tractor home I had over 14" of snow to plow. Once I finished plowing we only had flurries after that.

I keep reading that the Farmers Almanac is predicting a very cold winter. The US Government funded weather organizations are all saying global warming is at it's worse and that we are going to have a very warm winter. Since ever global warming prediction has proven to be wrong, I'm stockpiling firewood and keeping extra gas on hand for the generator.

a wet year here, it kinda puzzles me how folks, do not take that into account. the wetness in the ground is not going to magically go away some how in winter. that moisture in the ground, is just going to help keep fueling snow... though that said, this is central US, so many folks here all over the place, and different weather patterns...

ground is not cracking from drought like a couple years back for a few years. were hardly any snow happen. but rather ground is just soaked..
