Gosh just read this thread, I am not up in Floyd this weekend. I really hate that I can't be there bending over and sliding down a bank sticking plants in the ground.:laughing: I hope it goes well.
Pretty house and yard. I look forward to retiring and getting to the land in Va. It is not flat for sure.

Well, Everyone can drop there committments now once again have nothing to do.. LOL

WE ARE DONE!! We got about 215' of the main bank done.. And still have about 1/2 a box left over (we put them on ~8" centers and staggered every other row).. We had as many as 4 ppl (and as few as ME) working at the same time - It really went much quicker with four though.. As we got lower on the bank you could work a lot quicker since you could move laterally easier..

I lost count of total hours but at least it is done..

The left overs will go down sometime this week.. For now I soaked them in the box which should keep them moist..

I would post pics, but with the grass on the bank you really cant see them that well..

We are rewarding the the help with BBQ Ribs and cold beverages. see what you missed!

Finally got the last 300 or so in the ground this weekend.. Originally we had them on 8" centers and staggered every other row.. With the last ones I 'tried' to keep up that pattern, but I know that didnt happen often.. LOL

We got rain coming tonite and tomorrow.. That should give them a nice growth jump start.

I know liriopi are pretty hardy plants, - does anyone if i need to continue to water them after the get over the transplant shock?

We used Liropi for borders at our city house. Once established we left it alone. I don't think we watered the plants in the drought at all. They are pretty tough.

I wonder if deer will eat them? :licking::laughing:

We got 0.2" of rain last night and the plant 'perked up' today.. we are calling for more rain tonite so they should be very happy..

the liriope are listed as 'deer resistant' - but I think if they get hungry enough the will eat anything.. lol
