Rotavators are still being produced! Well, kind of anyway. I assume this video is from Pakistan and it never ceases to amaze what these guys can do with what they have to work with.

At one point in the video, the guy hand torches a 4 or 5 inch hole into which a bearing race is press fit. I watched it being done twice but still can't believe it.
The guys building their equipment in this video makes me think of how all our farm implements were made, back in the day, before everything was being mass produced.

That's OK. It's worth watching twice.

A couple of things strike me about manufacturing in that manner. The first is awe that simple hand work can produce such a workable product.... but then remembering that at one time clocks were made one at a time by hand. Some were very complex.

The second thought is that manufacturing in that hand-craftsmanship manner probably demands that there be a lot of similarly skilled repair shops.

And then there is the concern about matching male and female threads... oops...I mean neutral threads.... no....aw...I give up.
