Anybody got hay weather in the Northeast?

In eastern Mass we've been going up to 24 hours at a time without a thunderstorm.... I don't cut hay, but I'm guessing no one who does is doing so either.

My grass is getting to hay level though, as I don't like to mow wet, and it hasn't gotten dry in weeks. Grass likes it, gf doesn't

Still waiting for a break in the weather to start cutting in eastern Ontario. Possibly tomorrow though -- weather looks good through the weekend. Only problem is the fields are soaked.

I screwed up should have cut Monday night but there was 40% showers for
Tuesday. Tuesday and Wednesday ended up being good days. I hate the lost days. At least I had a good day to work on equipment outside.

:) That all part of the fun...trying to figure out what the weather will *really* be and make the most of it. :)

well we got hit by a passing storm early wed afternoon b4 i was supposed to rake and bale. it passed through and the sun came out, used the tedder b4 dinner and waited another day thankfully thurs was nice and sunny and a bit of a breeze dried up nicely and we took in about 200 bales, w/ a front approaching. thankfully got it all in and it was a good quality considering it got a bit wet. had a few heavy damp bales but they were on the outside 2 windrows, shady portion of the field edge. cut them open to air out and we'll feed them out fresh. if we waited another few days on this field i think it would have all gone to seed and turned brown all the way to the roots, like many fields this year as our area is stuck in a not so good weather pattern, scattered showers and t-storms again today and for the next 5 days. i'll try and get some pics of 2nd cut, as thats usually a bit more forgiving and we're not going balls to the wall.

The vegetable growers are doing okay right? A bit of rain most days makes for big juicy tomatoes.

I buy about 300 bales of hay a year, hopefully you guys'll get a break soon. According to my local weather (eastern ct) it's spotty rain til tuesday, then one good day and back to rain and sun.

Here's to 4 days of sun in a row.:)

The vegetable growers still have to have good field conditions to plant and non stop rain puts them behind schedule also.

Well, the forecast is calling for 4 nice days now so I just finished cutting around 18 acres.
