We keep trying but the critters enjoy it more than we do. What the deer don't eat or trample the coyotes (they will eat watermelons and tomatoes), racoons, Opposums, squirrels (gray, red, and ground) eat the spoils. We get what is left, strangely none of them will go for the hot peppers! We no longer have a fruit harvest as the deer eat all of them before they ripen.

You need a fence my friend. Problem solved.

I would bet those veggies didn't call that market home for very long. That is some nice produce.

Our gardens would not exist long without deer fencing. We've not had a breach in three years of using it. Very pleased.

Looking forward to some expansion this year. Our customer base has expanded greatly, and we have a lease on 3 additional acres, but we can only expand as quickly as the soil improvements take hold. Looking forward to a great 2012.

the fence looks great for the purpose. What fencing material is it, how high and how far between posts? Did you use anything else to keep it tight?

I was Hoping to not think about my garden this early. I get pretty anxious right about the end of January. Hunting season is over and I look forward to growing season. 13degrees yesterday am. Gonna be awhile.

It is medium-heavy deer netting, sold at the Depot. (and a zillion other places). This particular product is 7' high. $65 for 100' normally. We must have close to 700 feet of it, rolled up and in the barn for the winter. The poles are simple, light weight landscape timbers. Most are on their third year and look like new. Pleased about those too. $1.99 typically. Posts are about 15' apart, IIRC.

The product is super light weight, easy to install, by hand. We hand tension, and simply use long zip ties.
